The most-anticipated game of the year and the sequel to the best-selling first-person action game of all time, Modern Warfare 2 continues the gripping and heart-racing action as players face off against a new threat dedicated to bringing the world to the brink of collapse.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 4 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

GREATEST COD GAME AFTER COD 2 . STILL A MASTERPIECE THATS BEING COPIED OVER AND OVER AGAIN.5/5(YOUR GAMES SUCK NOW)
Best FPS multiplayer I've ever played. No game before or after offered the same experience. It is addictive, full of dopamine rush-based unlocks: guns, gun attachments, camos, emblems, tags etc. Everything is overpowered and unbalanced but in a way that works. Gameplay of MW2 can be described by a quote of Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung: "In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order". What really set MW2 apart for me was the killstreaks. By killing a set number of players without dying you get an award that allows you to call in aircraft to the battlefield among other assets. It builds up hype, adds an element of strategy and changes the whole first person shooter dynamic. Because it's not just boots on the ground. Soldiers with laptops actually change what happens in the airspace of the map. Laptop is a weapon. It truly feels like "Modern Warfare". The game embodies its title perfectly. The Perk system of MW2 was ahead of its own time and is still ahead of our time as well. I'll take the Perk system over static class system of other multiplayer shooters on any day. Instead of choosing a class, in MW2 you get 3 perks (skills) from 3 different categories. You can choose just one perk per category. This limit forced you to be creative. Combined with different weapon and grenade options this system leads to many creative custom classes and countless unique play styles. You can combine Marathon (infinite sprint) with Ninja (silent steps), get close to the enemy undetected and knife them or go through them with a silenced UMP. You can hide in a smoke screen cloud and shoot people people with a thermal scope. At the same time, you stay hidden with Cold Blooded. You see them but they don't see you. Can't get to higher killstreaks? Take Hardline, an RPD and "let it fly" as Chris Smoove has said. And I'm not gonna get into toxic combos like akimbo gay 18s or Danger Close + One Man Army + Noob Tube. MW2 is pure chaos and I love it. And hate it. The atmosphere, the sound design is amazing: gun sounds, constant explosions, air support, hit markers and their satisfying clicks when you hit the enemy, victory music, victory kill cams, lobbies. It's peak as far as FPS multiplayer is concerned and perfect representation of what online gaming is supposed to feel like and be like. My hope is that this game will continue to live at least as a nostalgic fan-driven throwback a niche community with a long memory can always go back to.
