Bullet Noir 1.0 is a stylish, brutally precise twin-stick shooter where one-shot kills apply on both sides. The 35-level campaign lands with a final chapter, and Arcade and Speedrun modes with leaderboards make it easy to lose hours chasing cleaner routes and bigger combos. When it clicks, it really clicks. The gritty-noir presentation sells the vibe, the soundtrack keeps your pulse up, and the four playable heroes feel distinct enough to change how you approach each map. I gravitated to The Lady; her fast melee and passive ability helped me keep long strings alive. Shotgun-through-doors moments and well-timed slow-mo chains are pure dopamine. It is not all smooth. Lock-on can be finicky, and on a controller the reticle sits farther from your character than I would like. That makes snap targets tougher than they should be, and occasional hit or collision oddities add to the frustration. The melee to gun swap has a small delay that can cost a run, and darker maps sometimes hide enemies more than they should. There are no checkpoints, so small mistakes can mean full restarts. Steam Deck ran beautifully for me with stable performance and no stutter. I actually preferred the Deck over WASD and mouse since having lock-on on LB felt better than clicking the middle mouse, even if a mouse offers tighter raw aim. One caveat: there is no cloud saving between Deck and PC, so your progress will not carry over if you swap platforms. If you like topping scores and living on a knife’s edge, Bullet Noir delivers. The control quirks can sting, but the rush of a clean route and an S rating makes it easy to hit retry again and again. 🔗Full Written Review: https://nuxgameguides.com/reviews/bullet-noir-review/
Conclusion:
Very promising! Feels like Hotline Miami with Sin City inspired visuals and vibe. Gameplay, visuals and music are solid. There are certainly areas of improvement but it's early access and hopefully they will polish it.
