Reviews
Brigands is a fun, casual adventure game made by a single indie developer. It's really fun playing a fireball slinging sorceress and very satisfying mowing down crowds of enemies at once. One of my favourite parts of the game is the synergies between various skills. For example, the sorceress could cast a tornado and then launch fireballs into it. These synergies aren't limited to your own abilities, but also extend to those of your teammates and even your pet! I haven't tried all the combinations yet, but some of the skill synergies are truly powerful and it's a blast to experiment with them. The game doesn't hold your hand though. It encourages you to explore and figure some things out through trial and error, which is part of the fun. I recommend Brigands for both solo and multiplayer play. While it doesn't revolutionise the genre, it offers fresh mechanics and a new take on some skills to keep things engaging. The variety of classes and the potentially different ways you can build them add replay value. For example, the paladin can focus on either all physical or all magical damage, giving you the freedom to choose your preferred play-style. And keep your eyes out on the weapons, if you're lucky, some of them can be game changers!
Impressive what a single developer could achieve with this game! There's a pinch of nostalgia (for us old timer) with a lot of new ideas. If you like the genre you will have fun with this game for sure. I'm like playing it alone, but you can have another experience playing with others. It is accessible for new gamers without being too simplistic for experienced gamer, a nice choice if you want to play with your kids or friends!

The graphics are simple yet crisp and balanced, and look good even on an older PC. I hoped mine would hold up and it did!
Brigands is a promising isometric hack-and-slash with RPG-lite elements, allowing up to four players to level up and customise their characters. While it still feels early in development, there’s a solid foundation here, and the gameplay loop is already enjoyable imo. What stands out most is how satisfying combat feels. The constant waves of enemies and the progression system remind me a lot of Vampire Survivors—there’s a rewarding flow to unlocking abilities and mowing through hordes. Controls are good, I was using a gamepad (xbox wireless on PC) and it was actually implemented well which is more than what you can say for a lot of games! Mouse and keyboard is also functional and operates as expected with keybinding support. Performance is also good (3080, 5900x running 4k with Ultra settings and getting well above 60 fps) and the audio support options are good. Given that this is a solo-developed project, it still manages to deliver a coherent narrative from what I have seen so far and just the fact that ONE PERSON made this makes it even more impressive. Overall I would say it’s a worthwhile experience for the £8.39 price and I would not recommend something unless I considered it to be worth it. With further development, it has the potential to be something great. I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.
Excellent hack and slash game, great graphics, sounds are all on point. really fun and even more impressive coming from ONE person. major props!! buy this game!!!!
I just finished my first run with the sorceress and I had a lot fun! The game mechanics feel fresh and fun, not only because of the way the attacks interact with each other (I'm OBSESSED with throwing down a fire wall, launching a tornado through it to set it on fire, and then adding fireballs that swirl around it... sooo satisfying and deadly!), but also because every new region adds new enemies, new gameplay mechanics like riding carts and turtles, and new interesting bosses. The boss battles are tricky, but once you understand what you're supposed to do, it feels gratifying. I really liked the huge magic axe that you can't wield, so you have to keep hitting it to move it around instead. I've never seen that in a game before. I'm looking forward to trying out the other classes, and especially the couch co-op to see how the abilities will mix together. There were a few bugs, but nothing game-breaking, and the dev fixed them insanely fast as soon as I reported them. I could have used a tutorial at the beginning to understand how some of the things work, but I eventually figured them out, and I'm assuming it'll be added later on. Overall, very solid game! PS - I now hate goats and snapping turtles and no one can change my mind.
Brigands is a fun hack-and-slash game with solid gameplay and great replay value, thanks to its unique and diverse classes. It's also very impressive to think that the game was made by a single developer.
The 1-4 player co-op makes the game a great choice for an evening with friends and popcorn. relax and fun)
Chose this to play with my S.O. after a long search through many newer 'couch co-op' local multiplayer games, which we play a lot of. It rose to the top because it looked similar to gameplay we've enjoyed before and was on sale. So far, it's better than a lot of other things we've tried and looks promising. Twin stick controls took some getting used to, but aren't too hard. I plan to update this review after we play further, but I already feel like we almost got our money's worth since it was so affordable. Got through the tutorial and first part of the game with no crashes or issues on a several-years-old PC, had fun, looking forward to playing more.
Playing it is a torture. Calling the graphics outdated is a compliment. Absence of essential sound effects. Absolutely empty gameplay. Extremely out of place AI-generated loading screens. This game have never seen even a little bit of effort during it's development. The bugs are terrible and in a large quantities. This game is a catastrophe and I don't recommend anyone in their mind trying to play that.
