Going back to Borderlands feels like opening an old treasure chest: that dusty world of Pandora, with its barren landscapes and eerie music, is just as hypnotic as the first time I set foot there. The journey starts slow, with mediocre weapons and enemies that seem unbeatable… but every mission, every piece of loot, and every skill point brings you closer to that magical level 50. Progress isn’t just about numbers; it’s a transformation. You go from dodging bullets in fear to tearing through waves of bandits and beasts, feeling unstoppable. That mix of irreverent humor, endless loot, and the satisfaction of watching your character grow makes Borderlands 1 a trip that feels like meeting an old friend—one who always greets you with a weapon chest and the promise of another adventure.

Take-Two and 2K games have updated all their games Terms of Service, turning this game as well as all of their other games into literal spyware. People who are review-bombing the Borderlands games because they can't understand what they read and blindly trust those who blatantly spread misinformation are some of the dumbest mfers, holy crap... These Series is not Worth your Time nor your money even if it's on a 99% off, do not support this group of Developers, they are vampires that do not care about customer service and only blame players for any performance issues or par-experience you have with their games. Game was good back in the day, but the issue is it's a co-op shooter that you can't play co-op anymore. You have to do ridiculous workarounds to maybe connect with friends some of the time so for the most part you are forced to play the game solo. Playing borderlands 1 solo feels like walking through a themepark with nobody there, eerie and disjointed from it's intended purpose. Compared to later borderlands games the quests can feel a bit fetch questy and literal payed for DLC's at the time of release like Mad Moxxi's require you to play for anywhere between 3-6 hours depending on level and gear without so much as a break to go to the toilet all for loot that you could get 2 minutes into the game. Luckily the enhanced edition fixes the connection issues but still suffers with bad gameplay loops that are indicative of it's time. I honestly don't understand why the achievements for this game are not just auto unlocked by playing the enhanced edition as for those who are completionists being forced to play this outdated version tediosly grinding away to get the achievements you already have all over again just feels awful. The issue is aswell is that because there is an enhanced edition in the first place this game this game has been left as a relic of a bygone time. No updates, no bug fixes, no fixing of major gameplay mechanics like the coop, no quality of life improvements such as simple things like a fov slider forcing people to script in there own as to not have the game feel like you are looking through fishtank glass. I would recommend to you that if you have the enhanced edition, it's not worth farming the achievements for this game, especially since some of the coop requiring achievements may just be inaccessible anymore if you can't say get a LAN game going with not 1 but 2 different friends to work around the broken matchmaking. Better to sit this one out.
