Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 5.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
This recommendation would largely mimic my review that I originally made of the original game over a decade and a half ago. It is still fun to come back to the original game in 2026. In fact, I'm doing so with a party of three as of this week. You don't have to spend ten times the amount to get a core Borderlands experience. This does the job more than fine, despite its age. Granted, it does have its fair share of jank with this release (online needing some CFG file tampering with other players, collision being odd at times, etc.) but after going through the rest of the games in the franchise, the original game ends up being a very solid experience. The gunplay is the key focus of these games and, for the most part, is very fun and serviceable. Admittedly, it's better with the later games in the release and some of the synergy and systems that they made between games 2, PS and 3 are likely superior but you can have some serious fun with the simplicity in this release. In fact, it has a skill leveling system that is unique to this game in the franchise, something they did away with in terms of 'the more you use a type of weapon, the more proficient you'll become'. Not entirely certain if that's a good or bad thing this many years on but I never had a problem with it in comparison to the buff system that they use now which is largely just random percentage buffs you get every so often based on challenges you clear on the newer games. Your mileage may vary. For being the first game in the series, this really is it in a distilled form with no substitutes. It's where I wish the franchise was close to today - a wild west space shooter in comparison to what feels like knockoff Halo with the newer games. If you got tired of the story and cheesy dialogue that constantly plagues the newer releases from 2 and on but you never gave the original game a shot because people overwhelming said 'start with 2 and play only 2', or similar, then take a step back and play this game. And if you've never played a single title in the series but are very interested in first-person shooters and looters similar to Diablo, then this is a fine entry point in the franchise. This game consistently rotates around the five dollar mark and includes every aspect of the original release, now reworked in HD with modern networking. If you enjoy this title, you'll likely enjoy the rest of them with varying degrees of success or disappointment. How far you go in this game will likely determine how diehard of a fan you'll become - this was most certainly the genesis for my fandom, for better or worse.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Borderlands laid the groundwork for a multiple decade spanning franchise and serves as one of the most important and influential games of all time. Whilst its gameplay has aged with time, it still deserves the respect and attention it has garnered. The desolate, hostile, hopeless world of Pandora, the crazy enemy designs and quests, the very special art style, and the incredible soundtrack serve to create an experience that feels as desperate and crazy as it claims to be. With its truly unique and unforgettable cast of characters and enemies, its focus on gunplay and rarities, its fun story, and its dark humor, no one ever forgets their first time in this universe. The Enhanced Edition improves on most things of the original, helping to modernize it just a little more and fix some of its more glaring issues.
Pretty clunky by today's standards but a fun game and what started the Borderlands series. Would recommend at least 1 playthrough. 7/10
По-моему, это первая игра, где я от скуки уснул прямо за компьютером(так что наиграно сильно меньше). К покупке и прохождению не рекомендуется. Если все же возьмете, то дотерпите до Нового Убежища(New Haven), после него становится немного получше.
Genuinely love this game so much. The voice acting, the character design, the environment, just everything. I couldn't recommend it enough for single players and also gamers who like to play with friends or a small squad. You can get soft locked sometimes but I promise that is so small compared to who wonderful this game is. Play borderlands !!
Borderlands: Game of the Year Enhanced
Rating: 2/10 — A Painful, Buggy Trip Down Memory Lane
The Short Version
Verdict: Revisiting this after 13 years was a mistake. Between a disastrous story, boring gameplay, and a mountain of technical failures, this "Enhanced" edition feels anything but. Unless you have a massive tolerance for bugs and clunky mechanics, this is a struggle to finish.

[th]Category[/th] [th]Rating[/th]

Performance Terrible (Input Lag & Bugs)

Co-op Experience Broken Progression

DLC Quality Mostly Repetitive Grind

The Technical Disaster
"It’s not just unpolished; it’s fundamentally broken." The "Enhanced" tag is a lie. Getting the game to even run properly was the first boss fight.

The Launcher: The Steam launcher is broken. We had to bypass it manually just to get into the game.
Mission Bugs: We encountered a co-op glitch that denied us a mandatory upgrade, forcing us to mod the game just to fix what the devs broke.
Input Lag: The co-op lag was insane—sometimes a full five-second delay between pressing a button and actually moving.
Co-op Progression: If you aren't on the exact same mission as your partner, your progress is zero. This system breaks the game even further and leads to endless loops and glitches.

The DLC Breakdown
"From 'meh' to a driving simulator, with one tiny saving grace."

Zombie Island of Dr. Ned: Despite the praise this gets, it was just "meh."
Mad Moxxi’s Underdome: A repetitive, soul-crushing grind.
Secret Armory of General Knoxx: This should be called the "Driving DLC." You spend most of your time in a vehicle, and while it looks more polished, it’s actually more boring than the base game. We even hit a looping bug that killed our 100% completion chances.
Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution: The only part of the game that was actually fun. It felt unique, short, and sweet. The bosses were great, except for the Mech, which had an absurd amount of health.

Pro Tip: Fix the Lag & Launcher
If you are determined to play this, you have to take maintenance into your own hands.

Bypass the Launcher: Rename Launcher.exe to Launcher.old and then rename BorderlandsGOTY.exe to Launcher.exe in your game files to skip the broken Steam pop-up.
Fix the Co-op Lag: Go to your WillowEngine.ini file and set bHasVoiceEnabled=False. The game's VOIP is often the culprit for that five-second input delay.
Stay Synced: NEVER play ahead of your co-op partner. The mission tracking in this game is fragile; if your quest logs don't match exactly, someone is going to lose hours of progress.

Final Thoughts
Who is this for? Honestly? No one in 2026. If you want Borderlands, play the sequels. This version is a mess of broken missions and boring loops. Conclusion: A 2/10. I forced myself to play through it twice for a complete review, and it was painful every step of the way. Claptrap’s DLC was a highlight, but it’s not enough to save this shipwreck.
