Bloodshell: Conviction

It feels like this vn was written by someone under 20, maybe even under 18. Also this vn is unfinished and I'm not sure if it will ever be completed. So, unless you want to read something at the level of teen fanfic, better avoid.

This game can be recommended IF AND ONLY IF you are as firm a believer in "so bad it's good" as I am. While the MS Paint spritework and CGs are actually sort of amazing, charming in a 'Ryukishi07 programmer art' kind of way, and show off competency and the author's understanding of the basics of art, the visual novel sort of sh*ts the bed in every other regard. The story is boring and pointless, the writing is hilariously juvenile, and mired in so many spelling and formatting mistakes it's maybe just two steps removed from [i] My Immortal [/i]. The stated runtime of 5 hours is, in actuality, closer to two, and during the latter half of that experience you won't be able to stop yourself pointing out how, despite how awful everything on screen is, there sometime scenes or even single screens that would have been delicious if handled by a better author. As a fun aside, during that second part of the story the game also starts using and over-using the well-known 'dramatic scare chord' SFX, the Tik-Tok boom SFX and that weird soundbyte that shows up in [i] Half-Life 2 [/i], distorted and sped up, for the Combine assault rifle alt-fire. I don't even know, man.
