Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain

All you have to do about it is to modernize the textures and implement modern controls like you did with the good old Tomb Raider franchise... the fact that the community neglects this game says all about it, they suck blue spectral dees and deserve to be dishonored with such deviant crap as LoK Ascendance, I hope you loved that crap - I know you didin't x'D - so F-U Soul Reaver fanboys who hate BO2 suck on my non spectral material fat dee.

It goes without saying, but check the guides section for a fix for crashes and other bugfixes. I still got multiple crashes with the fix in the last 1-2 levels. Thankfully they did not repeat in the same spot and the save managed to be kept in tact. Remember to save often after every blood circle, otherwise a crash means starting the whole level over, believe me I did it once and felt it hit my soul. The Legacy of Kain series has such an amazing story layered with such janky old game design. It's old, retro, repetitive, yet the story finds small parts to keep you hooked. Sadly story-wise, this is more of the same as Blood Omen 1, if a bit more dull and bland than the original. Both games are begging for a modern remaster, with smoother controls, better level design and a few touch-ups for models, animation & cutscenes. I do feel this one and the first entry are so close in quality despite the years in different. The story is worse, but the gameplay is better, buuuut it's repetitive. Healing & Gaining "LORE" is the same. You find a chest to get a bunch of it, or kill every living creature and use "Blood Suck". And the long af animation is something you will see over, and over and over and over AND OVER again. If you can't find a way to play Blood Omen 1, start with this game after catching up with a playthrough of the original online, it's not that long, but it's a lot of story to take in. It's worth the price and a definite pick-up on sale if you want something old but perhaps not as well aged as a fine wine, more of an alright Ale. After this, you pick up with Soul Reaver 1 & 2 and then Defiance, so those entries are the better entries in the series.

This game feels like a demo. The Steam controller fixes are a pain in the butt as I hate using Steam controller settings. I just reinstalled it but tried to fix the controller inputs and gave up after an hour. I can't wait until Crystal Dynamics fixes this game even if I have to buy the darned thing again. I actually hope they replace the fighting with LOK: Defiance fighting because as it stands the fighting sucks ass by comparison. But only if you are allowed to skip the darned boring ass dialogue. The game is cheesy, no wonder they saved the Remaster for later, or never.
