For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. I hope BO1 and BO2 will get a remaster next. Wouldnt even mind if they just put BO1 on steam as it is. As for BO2, its probably my favorite entry in the series with defiance. Runs great on steamdeck, too. You just have to fiddle with the controller settings a bit.

Kain is my most favorite character among many great characters I have played with. Even though franchise fans don't like this one in the series, I had fun playing it. The voice actor, Simon Templeman did a great job with Kain, continuing the great performances in the previous games, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2. I had the in-game freezing issue and solved it with following instructions. Enjoy. ""Set Core Affinity"" - Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and open Task Manager. - Go to the "Details" tab, right-click bo2.exe, and select "Set Affinity". - Uncheck all processors and select only CPU 0 or CPU 1.
This was a game I spent hours with back on the GameCube, and coming back to it now brings a strong sense of nostalgia that’s hard to separate from the experience itself. If you’ve never played it before, it’s worth being honest, the game shows its age. Movement can feel clunky, combat isn’t as smooth as modern titles, and some of the mechanics take a bit of getting used to. It doesn’t have the polish players might expect today. That said, there’s still a lot to enjoy here. The gameplay has a unique charm, especially in how it lets you approach combat. You’re not just hacking away at enemies, there are multiple ways to take them down, from using the environment to more brutal, creative vampire abilities. That variety keeps things interesting and gives the game its own identity. Ultimately, Blood Omen 2 is one of those titles where your enjoyment may depend on what you’re looking for. If you can look past the dated mechanics, there’s a fun, atmospheric experience underneath, and for those who grew up with it, a strong hit of nostalgia that makes it all the more memorable.

Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain puts players in control of the ruthless vampire Kain in a dark, gothic world filled with combat, stealth, and supernatural powers. The atmosphere and voice acting stand out, giving the game a strong identity within the series. However, repetitive combat, simple level design, and dated mechanics hold it back compared to other entries in the franchise. ⭐ Rating: 7/10 — Stylish and atmospheric, but weighed down by repetitive gameplay. 🩸 - Evolution Of Legacy of Kain Games - Video Gameplay - https://youtu.be/fjQeGHbNArg - Follow my curator page - https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45547027/
I cannot recommend this. First of all, this game was a nightmare to make it run properly on my system. At first the game was tough to even boot as it would usually crash on menu. Interestingly, the crashes which happened during the first level, after I "fixed it", returned anyway in the very last level of the game... The worst thing is the controls. the controller works but the default controls are from hell. You have to hold a lock button to be able to move sideways, and one analogue stick was for looking up and down, and the other was for looking left and right. Also, vertical sensibility was way higher than the horizontal one. Controls so bad, I could argue it's unplayable. Luckily, Steam is very advanced nowadays and you can modify your controls any way you like, even temper with the sensitive of the analogues, and for each direction individually too. So, I managed to make controls bearable. But they still were terrible as moving sideways while locking was super uncomfortable and I would have to let go of the other analogue stick every time. Dodging was difficult as you need to press 3 buttons at the same time. Anyway, enough with controls. Combat in this game is pretty abysmal. There is an option to grab an enemy, but you can only do it at very specific times. There is a red ring indicator when to attack or grab, but for most enemies it is broken or something. Also, enemies get knocked out all the time and most enemies you cannot attack while they are down. There is no advantage of it and it just makes the battles longer. You can only kick the enmies when they are on their dying animation, so they would die anyway... Enemies can block way too well. And for some reason your rage meter only fills when you block. It is so stupid. So you can either try to spam attack till you kill the enemy, or just block all the time without attacking till you fill the meter for special attack which would kill the enemy. You also get numerous superpowers, and they handicapped it so much that you cannot use half of your magic spells on enemies. You can only use them on puzzles or scripted bosses. So, the combat is heavily limited, it's super repetitive and bad. There is also stealth. I enjoyed it the most; however, you can only use it in the fog, so its presence it limited. Also, there are enemies that cannot be killed with stealthy take-downs and they always know you are around, so even in section where you're supposed to avoid them and just sneak around, you would have to get out of the fog and be spotted instantly, cause the fog is not everywhere, but only in spots. It's so stupid. Bad design all around. Boss battles range from fun ones to terrible ones. In any case, they have way too much health and are too repetitive. Now the cutscenes. They are unskippable. What I hated is that bosses often have 3 phases and sometimes there would be long cutscenes in between phases. And when you die you have to repeat all phases and cutscenes. PAINFUL! Ironically, the final boss has long, maybe 3 minute cutscenes in between phases, but after you kill you there is a skippable cutscene... And yes, I was still attacking him, so I pressed attack button just once and I skipped the final cutscene... Another major issue with the game is that it has invisible walls EVERYWHERE! Seriously, you cannot even walk stairs half the time, you have to jump. A single step or tiny bumb in the environment will make you stuck and you will have to jump. Now for some positive. There are A LOT of puzzles in this game. I loved them. But most of them are slow and long. I loved the variety in locations. Almost every level was set in a completely different environment. I greatly enjoyed the progression system for the most part. Usually, I hate checkpoint system, but this one I liked. Except, that often there would be an enemy encounter, then a long and slow puzzle and then another deadly enemy encounter... And every time I'd do that slow and long puzzle and die on the following enemy encounter... This was so anger-infuelling. Couldn't they just place a checkpoint after every puzzle? There is no fun in repeating the slow and long puzzles you have already solved. This is a massive problem which had a very easy solution... And they did not need to increase the amount of checkpoints, just switch their locations a bit. Overall, there is a lot to be appreciated here, especially the puzzles, progression, and level structure. But the flaws are unforgivable in my opinion and I would say that it is not good enough for thumbs up. 6/10
Love this game. Hard to get running on modern PCs though, but I just finished playing through it. The game was massively underbudgeted and the development team did their best to make the game under the circumstances, but it remains unfinished/unpolished. However, the gameplay is still quite fun, especially the blood mechanics. But the true jewel of this game imo, is the city levels. The art and aesthetic feels so unique and palpable, I come back to this game over the years just for that. Worth giving the game a shot, especially when on sale. The game deserves a remaster or even a remake.
terrible port but there are some fan fixes, would recommend buying this one on ps4/5 or emulating it before purchasing on here
I had an absolute blast with this one!!! I loooove LOVE KAIN!!! So playing as him again after BO1 was such an incredible thing to me! It was absolutely fun. I liked the city, I liked the vibes, everything was Gothic and beautiful as hell! I’m sad that I now only have one game left in this universe! My only complaint is that Kain didn’t say “Vae Victis” not even once!! Can you believe this?! Huh?! Overall, I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. Seeing Kain’s smug ass again was such a joy hehe!
