i liked many aspects of this game, such as the art and the combat. i really enjoyed getting to play it and can see all the hard work put into it. pretty solid
My favorite part is the artstyle and designs! Heres some bullet points for some thoughts while I played with a friend - cutscene and dialogue skip would be nice for faster readers or a speed up option - save - love the art style (the roofs look off being flat while the rest of the artstyle is detailed) - environmental markers - environmental markers instead of cutscenes showing where to go unless big reveals - quest tracker? in case someone doesnt know how to read :( Overall great game for making it in the span of a year it looks lovely I look forward to seeing more! :)

A Passionate Student Project with Real Ambition Great third-person fighting game from SAU Game Lab! It’s especially impressive knowing this was made in just a year by a small team of students — the ambition behind the project shines through. The elemental combat system, with its ability variety and synergy, makes for a fast and enjoyable experience once it opens up. Movement is fluid and fun, and the music and cutscene direction (especially early on) are surprisingly strong. That said, it's very much a student project, with all the growing pains you'd expect. The camera and animation systems are rough around the edges, the AI can be unpredictable, and level design occasionally left me confused about where to go. Still, the narrative grabbed me early on — more than most short indie games do — and I genuinely wanted to see how things ended. If you’re interested in seeing what a small, passionate team can pull off in limited time, or just want to support up-and-coming developers, this is worth checking out. I’d love to see what they make next!
A really fun experience. Has some clear rough spots such as camera and the chance for things to go through walls, but clearly had heart behind it and was worth trying out and playing.
Actually pretty fun. The camera settings are a little weird - the y sensitivity started out really high and I couldn't lower it and the bar for the x sensitivity did not appear but that worked unlike the y. Music and art was good and the element mechanic was interesting. I melted the boss with explosions which was fun. The Key Orbs look a lot like the element orbs which is bad for differentiation. The targeting and ranged attack was a bit jank, too. Sometimes the attack misses even if you're targeted, and sometimes that target disappears when you shoot it. Also, the elemental ranged attack only ever worked once when it was introduced. I think I died and restarted and it didn't work after that. I never really got lost except for one time in the last area when I missed a door. All in all, great game and with a little polish you could expand it into a banger.
The game is quite fun. I did 3 runs with the last run not using any elements as a challenge. In that run the ranged attack was my best friend. The game is surprisingly well balanced where you can not notice your health dropping until it's already really low when not using Scavenge. I like how the ranged attack switches when you change your aspect but aiming could be a better when not locked on.
Overall, a great game with great art direction. The art style, level design, and combat mechanics feel really cohesive, reminding me of games like Hi-Fi Rush. A short but fun experience that I wish I had more of, ending with a fun song.
