About
The second scripture in the Blasphemous series portends the return of The Penitent One, with a story that continues from the free Wounds of Eventide DLC for the original game, where The Heart in the sky heralded the return of The Miracle and foretold the birth of a new miracle child.
Awakened in a strange new land, and displaced from his final resting place, The Penitent One is thrust back into the endless cycle of life, death, and resurrection, with no other option than to explore this perilous new world and uncover its long-forgotten secrets.
Hordes of grotesque enemies stand in your way, awaiting final judgement by the brutal hand of the Penitent One, with titanic twisted bosses also lurking in the darkness, waiting for their chance to return you to the grave from whence you came.
Taking them down won’t be easy, but with Blasphemous 2 offering more chances to customise and improve your skill set, along with several new unique weapons to wield with righteous zeal and unending fury, victory might just be within grasp.
Ultimately, only one thing is certain… Penance Never Ends
Having awoken in a strange new land, your journey starts anew in a series of enchantingly grotesque landscapes, oozing Gothic charm and littered with unforgiving traps. How you tackle the labyrinthian world remains at your discretion, there is no wrong turn to be made, only scores to settle
The Penitent One shows no mercy, and with a series of new weapons offering new moves, brutal executions, and expanded combos, destruction will rain on any that stand in his way

Blasphemous 2 offers up new ways to play, with the ability to customise and improve your base skillset, alongside several new unique weapons to unleash devastating attacks on enemies

Hordes of monstrous foes stand between you and your goal; twisted bosses with unique attack patters and sundering abilities will put your skills to the test as you fight to stand triumphant when the dust settles

A whole new world awaits, bustling with mysterious new NPCs to interact with, some will offer aid, some will ask for it, and others will send you on death defying missions to obtain long forgotten items. With so much to see and do, the stories and myths you encounter will help you unpick the games myriad of secrets, granting you a deeper understanding of this strange new world

Masterpiece.
Such an improvement over Blasphemous 1 mechanically. Weapon swapping, way more movement abilities, fun jump puzzles, no more instant cheese fall deaths. So good. Also, the idol system lets you have agency over some of the more aids interactions, e.g., I found an idol that makes any ability that would knock me down (so fun...) only knock me back. Its amazing.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Blasphemous 2 is a very fun, visceral, and challenging metroidvania from the creators of the first game in the series (obviously). This game greatly improves upon it's predecessors mechanics by making movement and platforming tighter and vastly more polished. The combat feels mostly the same, but the added weapons allow you to switch things up on the fly to pull off massive devestation. The level design is also on par with the original featuring unique and haunting themes filled with equally haunting enemies/characters. Although Blasphemous 2 annihilates the first game in level design and mechanics, it falls disappointingly flat in another huge feature of the series. Bosses. Compared to Blasphemous 1, which features massively unique and disturbing boss fights, the sequel falls flat on its face. At my point in the game after nearly 20 hours, most if now all of the bosses consist of "just some guy". This is so regular that I no longer get excited for the next big obstacle as I once did for the first game. Another small thing I didn't enjoy were the animations because they looked so clean and polished in opposition to the game itself. To sum it up for you; the game improves in all aspects of the original except for the bosses which are super underwhelming. I also didn't like the cell-shaded animations personally. I would still recommend the game as of my current progress. I really hope they step things up if they do plan a third game in the series.
