About
The second scripture in the Blasphemous series portends the return of The Penitent One, with a story that continues from the free Wounds of Eventide DLC for the original game, where The Heart in the sky heralded the return of The Miracle and foretold the birth of a new miracle child.
Awakened in a strange new land, and displaced from his final resting place, The Penitent One is thrust back into the endless cycle of life, death, and resurrection, with no other option than to explore this perilous new world and uncover its long-forgotten secrets.
Hordes of grotesque enemies stand in your way, awaiting final judgement by the brutal hand of the Penitent One, with titanic twisted bosses also lurking in the darkness, waiting for their chance to return you to the grave from whence you came.
Taking them down won’t be easy, but with Blasphemous 2 offering more chances to customise and improve your skill set, along with several new unique weapons to wield with righteous zeal and unending fury, victory might just be within grasp.
Ultimately, only one thing is certain… Penance Never Ends
Having awoken in a strange new land, your journey starts anew in a series of enchantingly grotesque landscapes, oozing Gothic charm and littered with unforgiving traps. How you tackle the labyrinthian world remains at your discretion, there is no wrong turn to be made, only scores to settle
The Penitent One shows no mercy, and with a series of new weapons offering new moves, brutal executions, and expanded combos, destruction will rain on any that stand in his way

Blasphemous 2 offers up new ways to play, with the ability to customise and improve your base skillset, alongside several new unique weapons to unleash devastating attacks on enemies

Hordes of monstrous foes stand between you and your goal; twisted bosses with unique attack patters and sundering abilities will put your skills to the test as you fight to stand triumphant when the dust settles

A whole new world awaits, bustling with mysterious new NPCs to interact with, some will offer aid, some will ask for it, and others will send you on death defying missions to obtain long forgotten items. With so much to see and do, the stories and myths you encounter will help you unpick the games myriad of secrets, granting you a deeper understanding of this strange new world

Reviews
Blasphemous 2 is an excellent metroidvania that succesfully builds upon the strong foundation of its predecessor and improves, changes or adds pretty much everything that was lacking in the first game. First and foremost, it includes more combat and movement mechanics which make for more fun moment-to-moment gameplay and allow more elaborate level and boss designs. The usual metroidvania power-ups like air dash and double jump are finally brought it, environmental traversal unlocks are more interesting, there are several weapons with their own unique traversal and fighting capabilities, new spells and even some light RPG systems to tweak your builds. The world feels more cohesive and lived-in right off the bat. Areas are connected very well, the individual level designs are pretty clever, the environments are even more beatiful with a true sense of grandeur this time around. The game gives just enough direction to the player, so it's easy to jump in, follow and unlikely to ever get completely lost, but it still demands a lot of spontaneous exploration and story / lore research. It is paced well all throughout and the progression feels quite good with no odd difficulty spikes or lengthy periods of new power droughts - various unlocks from different categories are nicely placed and spaced out, so along with the game's somewhat open-ended structure it enables quite a few slightly differing paths despite some of the key objectives being strictly ordered. No matter where you decide to go though, you are bound to open up new pathways or earn upgrades. Areas are quite memorable both in theme and mechanics, often with a similarly striking boss fight serving as the finale and unlike the first game - there aren't really any sections that feel irritating. Just a good fair challenge, be it with platforming, combat or simply figuring out the critical path. Decent lineup of bosses, more straight duel fights and even the gimmicky ones are for the most part well thought out... and, the final boss is actually solid this time around! It also has incredible enemy variety, bringing back quite a few from the first game while also adding a bunch of completely new ones, all carefully distributed to provide different challenges and give each area its own identity. Quests, secrets and collectibles are also a step up. There are more of them, some even more elaborate or better hidden, but all generally less obtuse and slightly shorter to complete, often with exciting goodies ranging from spells, items to skins and lore drops and so on, which further helps make the adventure consistently rewarding. Stories also feel a little easier to piece together. So overall, the exploration is very satisfying from start to the end. Worth noting however, the aesthetic and atmosphere here is a little more hopeful and vibrant, but it is still very much in the Catholic-inspired dark fantasy territory. The technical aspects have been improved too, with more options, superior UI, lots of QoL additions, no clunky fighting or traversal actions and a generally bug / glitch-free experience. This might not be the most impressive or original entry in its categories, but I would say it absolutely delivers in all regards a title like this should. Very well rounded product where nothing is quite ground-breaking, but everything is above average. It still has some difficult parts with combat and to a lesser extent platforming and careful marking and dilligent exploration are required to access all the content, but if you have some experience within the genre - Blasphemous 2 is a must play.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very good Metroidvania. But it is hard, so prepare for a challenge. Not as good as the first one.
Muy divertido
Not as good as its predecessor, this game is not fun at all.
kinda fun, though it is just way too difficult unless youre good at these type of games. its so easy to die and at points i just got stuck
Great game, good story, amazing and addictive combat. Absolutely Worth playing
