About

Attention Operator,
You have been selected to oversee a critical mission. Our team of elite soldiers is set to descend into a newly discovered abyss, believed to lead to uncharted territories beneath the earth. Your role is to monitor the soldiers' progress, ensuring their safety and collecting data.

As they venture deeper, remain vigilant and provide guidance based on their transmissions. You will have access to a status monitor, a radar, a radio to scan various frequencies, and other equipment to assist in your mission.
Be aware that communication may become sporadic as they descend. Strange anomalies have already been detected, and the nature of the abyss remains unknown.

Prepare for the unexpected and maintain operational readiness at all times. Prepare to face the unimaginable.
End of message.
It hates us

Pros:
+ Amazing graphics + Perfect atmosphere + Interesting story + Great sound design + Runs really well for a UE5 game
Cons:
- Short Below, Rusted God is probably one of the coolest Cosmic horror games. You spend majority of the game sitting in a control room, communicating with your team as they relay information to you. The loop of you trying to keep your team alive as you spiral into madness was enthralling and I enjoyed every second. I really hope we see more games like this or even set in this universe. Highly recommend to any Lovecraftian fan.
I really wanted to like Below, Rusted Gods and for the first 90 minutes, I did. The atmosphere was great, the game had me hooked, and I was genuinely excited to keep playing. Unfortunately, after about 90 minutes the performance completely fell apart to the point where I simply couldn't continue. For context, I'm running an RTX 5070 with an Intel i9-13900KF. I progressively lowered the graphics settings trying to make the game playable, eventually dropping all the way down to Low settings at 30 FPS. It still wouldn't run properly. At that point, I don't think it's reasonable to blame the hardware or expect the player to keep lowering settings and troubleshooting. A system like this should have absolutely no problem running a game like this at 30 FPS on Low. That's what makes this review particularly frustrating: there's a genuinely good game underneath the performance problems. I was having a great time until the technical issues brought the experience to a complete stop. I hope the developers are able to address the optimization and performance problems because I'd genuinely like to come back and finish it. But in its current state, I can't recommend it. Great game. Great atmosphere. Unfortunately, for me, completely unplayable after 90 minutes.

Honestly a wonderful game. Admittedly some of the puzzles were difficult to figure out near the end but all in all it's been super fun. My only gripe is that the game doesn't give you a manual save option so if you mess something up or want a different ending you need to redo everything from the start and there's not skip button for the dialogue. after a while that gets tedious
Going into the game I was not quite sure what to expect, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised and am glad I purchased the game. The graphics are very well done, but what struck me playing through the game (I did four playthroughs, to get all four endings) was the atmosphere; it's tense and at times suffocating, between worrying for your team mates and wondering what will happen with your own experiences in the base. The game's soundtrack and sound effects played into this; both were very well done. I had a fun and enjoyable experience with this game; I would like to see it further developed, maybe with DLC?
el vallo se la come, buen juegazo turbio atmosferico y siniestro
A Great Experience
Below, Rusted Gods is a pretty unique game in the sense that you aren't the one in the middle of the action. You're the operator. You take the role of Command, command of four people who are descending what can only be described as a spooky cave. The gameplay consists of you being in the command room and the team will contact you from time to time with updates and a request for orders when it comes to split decisions. Of course things start to get odd and you begin to realise there's something more to this cave and even the place you work. There's a few puzzles dotted throughout but the game is pure vibes. I can't say much more without spoilers, as I'd class this game as the kind you should experience and go in relatively blind. I'm definitely going to play it again at some point and try for other endings, giving it some replay value. Give it a go, in the dark, alone. 8/10.
Overall great and creepy game, but a few things could have been improved: - health sensors feel like useless fidget decoy not giving you a single insight tru the whole playthrough - unit codes are only used once it what seems to be pretty unimportant interaction. When I saw codes first I hoped I'd need to often check against hordes of mimics of something. Sadly, I was wrong. - the puzzles deserve separate mention since those are like "no way I could solve it without searching internet for guides" and yeah, I actually couldn't/didn't want to solve a single puzzle - I didn't expect the TV to only be used once (except for VHS which at first I tried to put in audio-speaker cause I didn't notice this is different type of disc I'm picking up...) - vending machine never used! Damn it I deserved that milk! - in the middle of cancelling the guys I realized that I actually don't agree with that and I want to set the whole establishment on fire -- couldn't do that, sorry, we only have so much choice - first time near generator spent 30min trying to act on the book guidelines to realize I only need it later... - constant freezes despite my PC's specs
A dark, depressing and heavy atmosphere. You guide and decide the fate of four soldiers as an operator with different methods such as radars, radio transmitters and a medical station. Any missed clue and inattention can change the course of the story. Only thing I wished for was more inclusion of mentioned methods. More movement on the radar, more paranormal sounds on the transmitter and different mental and physical states on the medical station. Other than that a very neat horror game ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ
It's a fun story with some choices that aren't always obvious and multiple endings (I still have some left to grab). Very worth your time if you like SCP adjacent stuff or just spooky games. Especially great atmosphere! Doesn't fall into traps like many small-team spooky projects do like having only cheap jump scares or obvious forced plot. Support small teams who make excellent titles!
"Use headphones for the best experience" is not a suggestion, it's a trap. The best horror experience I've ever had. Taught, slick, and profoundly uncomfortable. Just completed my first playthrough and - god help me - I'm going back for another run.
