Tired of AAA games, where developers don't take any risks, and are more concerned about high resolution textures and cutscenes, I decided I'll be playing only "16bit" style games from now. And I started with Beholgar. And I must say I'm totally pleased with this first attempt in "retro style" game! Pros: - Amazing art style, totally feel like dark fantasy, Conan, Heavy Metal Magazine style. Love it! - The music is awesome, adventurous, epic. - Difficult is extremely well balanced: it leans to the easy side of things, but there's parts where you certainly will die and need to master it. - Set of weapons, magic and moves are very good and fun, like double jumps, grabbing the edge of platforms, etc... Every new upgrade made me feel very excited in using it! Cons: - A little too short. I finished in 4 hours (and spent 1 hour only farming gold to buy the blacksmith equipments). I don't like long games, but 6 to 7 hours of gameplay would be better (specially with metroidvania like games). - I like the still images that tell the story here and there, but at same time, it looks a little amateur. - There's not much to look out in old maps with the new abilities. - I farmed gold and bought the 3 itens that the blacksmith sells in the beginning of the game. After that, gold is useless, I didn't found any other vendor, nor the blacksmith showed new itens to buy. Overall, a marvelous game. Can't wait to play the follow up!

Divertido. Um clima Golden Axe muito bom.
It's a bit rough around the edges, but sincere Conan feel is worth it.
It looks and feels like a polished classic game, such as "Ghosts'n'Goblins", "Myth - History in the making", "Barbarian" and others. Also, the game is really fair and rewarding! Great music and sound design, wonderful graphics. An aesthetically pleasing overall experience. Well done!
Não posso negar que falta polimento, itens que dropam no meio do chão e não podem ser coletados, não tem mapa, o inventário não mostra itens comprados, mecânica pesada e notável input lag do controle. Mas nem por isso deixa de ser um excelente jogo pra quem curte plataforma 2D e metroidvania. A dificuldade é média-fácil, mas as armadilhas insta-kill podem frustrar os menos preparados. Uma dica: o jogo não te deixa continuar depois de matar o último chefe, então se quiser pegar todas as conquistas, faça isso antes do chefe final. E claro, como não existe mapa, anote todas as passagens bloqueadas para voltar depois de conseguir o poder específico. Outra dica: o fast-travel é habilitado automaticamente ao chegar no segundo mapa, use sem moderação para voltar e comprar itens.
Achei bem bugado, mas não é ruim se você insistir. Mas sinceramente, tem muitos outros metroidvanias que você pode experimentar do que esse.
Game honesto, nos remete um pouco a Golden Axe. Vale a compra.
An Old School Metroidvania that is great for fans of Retro new and old! It reminds me a lot more of Castlevania than a mix of Metroid and Castlevania.
