How would I describe it in one word? Puzzlevania. You get exactly what you see, and if you want that retro vibe, sitting alone in front of a screen in a dark room, slowly pushing forward in small increments, this is the game for you.
Very atmospheric with bags of humour thrown in for good measure. Excellent story line; Play-ability is top notch allowing the player to move in mid air when executing a jump. Locations are beautifully detailed with great use of colour. I love the spot effects and the music. I dreamt that someone somewhere would eventually release something like this and now it has finally happened!!! Great Stuff!! Deserves to be a classic! A Crash... !!!!! Still playing it and loving it!!!

A love letter to old ZX Spectrum games without ever feeling like it's taking the wrong things from them.
A lovely homage to the old 8-bit action-adventures.
Very Good at What It Does
Beep's Escape is some fine "Dizzy-Adjacent Gaming". If you don't remember Dizzy, it was a series of games best known for its ZX Spectrum entries that were a third action-platformer, a third Metroid-like, and a third point-and-click-adventure. You wander a world, collecting items and managing your extremely limited inventory space, using those items to solve puzzles and open up more bits of the world to hopefully collect more items. Along the way, you're also trying to grab all of a given trinket. This game has all of that, including numerous red herring items that serve no actual purpose, and a fun easter egg or two. It isn't a particularly long game, but you'll enjoy it if you liked the Dizzy games, or the idea of them appealed to you.
I am not at all familiar with ZX Spectrum titles, but I am a sucker for good pixel art and I *love* Beep's Escape. Having a great time. Definitely need to take some notes on where I'm dropping the items I can't carry so I don't lose track if I'm going to make my escape!!
Very retro, love the art and the music and it has a beautiful CRT filter too! Hard, like a lot of platformers from the era, but then I also don't play many in general so possible a case of needing to "get good" Cute robot too!
A neat little retro adventure game. The aesthetics are nice, the inventory puzzles aren't too hard, there are just a good amount of trash items you are not going to need... This and the hazards strewn about are bit too retro for me. Starting from the beginning because of terrible hit boxes still isn't great game design - I quite enjoyed the game in the casual mode.
I love graphics, music and characters.
