Beeny

[h1]Beeny[/h1] Siactro es una editora que se ha especializado en hacer juegos retro de plataformas cortitos y con precio competitivo. En este juego manejas a Benny, un abejorro obeso que solo rueda y salta en la decena de fases 2D verticales. Con un estilo propio de las consolas de 16 bits (Super Nintendo, Mega Drive...)., Cada una de estas fases son diferentes y cuenta con una banda sonora de calidad que te teletransportará mentalmente a aquellos años. Una vez completadas tendrás de regalo una fase para que juegues con tu amigo Kiwi y un modo contrarreloj que te desbloquearan personajes si los superas. El juego aunque es entretenidillo peca de ser demasiado simple. Una cosa que me ha sorprendido es que ni siquiera tiene menú de opciones (hasta tal punto que ni siquiera hay un botón para salir del juego). [u][b]Conclusión:[/b][/u] Un plataformas vertical en 2D que emula títulos de 16/32 bits. Es corto (30 minutos), fácil y baratito. [u][b]Pros:[/b][/u] ✅ Es cozy e ideal para todo el mundo. ✅ BSO de estilo retro muy buena. ✅ Con personajes "monísimos". ✅ Precio baratito (1 €). Beeny is now one of my favorite Siactro games after Super Kiwi 64 (which is demoed at the end of this game funnily enough). It's music is very good paying homage to the old Donkey Kong SNES games. And the visuals are also solid, doing a good job of solidifying the style for which it pays tribute to. There was solid variety within its brief runtime with some interesting mechanics like ants that move you left or right, rain which does the same throughout an entire level, and bees that either bounce you up or sink down. The game wasn't all that challenging, especially with the safety net of bees floating below you to ensure you keep moving up the level. Interesting to note as well, is the fact that you move up in this game rather than side scrolling, so it feels a bit more like one of those old mobile games. Siactro always puts a creepy level in his games, and they always feel out of place because the games are too short to reasonably transition from creepy back into snowy mountain or rainy jungle. The last thing I'll say is you have unlimited health so anyone looking for real challenge (aside from time trials) will likely be disappointed. Overall it's a solid game that does a good job of paying homage to Donkey Kong Country, with a great soundtrack that includes two truly standout songs. For a dollar, it'll be worth it to most people who want another taste of old school platformers.
