About

beaterCore is an arcade racing game for those who prefer cheap rusty beaters over specialized sports cars. Buy, repair, restore, and tune your dream project car. Take part in racing events and work your way through the career mode.

Repair your car in first person mode. Purchase furniture and stockpile as many spare parts as you can - you're going to need them.

In beaterCore you'll have to make quick repairs in-between races. Everything can go wrong, and you must be prepared for it! Store items in your car's trunk, but be wise with what you bring with you - space is limited.

Play locally with up to four players on the same screen. Keyboard controls are fully supported!

If career mode is not enough - you can always compete against your friends in online races. You're still going to need your resource management skills - multiplayer races affect your cars the same way as in career mode! Show off your pristine ride, or surprise your friends with track-specific tuning.

Experience tracks across different times of year. Prepare your car for icy winter conditions or enjoy the warm, vibrant colors of autumn.

I love pixel graphics, I love rally. That's my new favourite racing game.

I'm really enjoying this game so far. However I think the rate at which some parts wear out is a bit too punishing. I seem to always dump my entire winnings on parts. Other than that, the game is really fun.
this game is so moddable i set my car noises to brainrot sound effects 10/10 would get a headache again
Игра прикольная, но баланса в ней нет. Противники всегда стартуют на идеальных машинах даже внутри одного чемпионата. Не хватает сложности "посередине": легкая слишком простая, нормальная сложная
ai are awful and go through corners like grandmas. its not even bumper to bumper racing because they literally dont know how to race, they violently brake check you. they are cluelessly evil and its not even funny. they push you off the course and are basically immovable. they pit you from behind. they can pit you from in front too. if youve played any of the GTAs probably up through 4 with scripted driving missions, it feels like that but with wonkier physics. when the race starts, they often sharply turn into each other and flip each other. its absolutely infuriating because at that point youre not really racing. nothing really reacts to you properly unless youre brake checking them back. when theyre not driving like theyre from pittsburgh, its kinda fun doing the one on one cat and mouse chasing. thats certainly the highlight for me so far. but when its a swarm, its unfun chaos until you can just get in front and fly miles ahead. the ai has absolutely no spatial awareness. going off course completely kills your momentum while ive seen the ai cut through corners with it. even after messing with settings, braking feels like it can easily kill all your momentum and high speed driving sends you flying back and forth with every input. whatever, all of that is skill issue at the end of the day, but i got the big offroad tires that made absolutely no difference, which in the 2 hour refund window is a big red flag to me lol. suspension and engine parts certainly make a huge impact, but it just doesnt feel right. there is a "steering aid" setting that tells you absolutely nothing, it is just a toggle but helps slightly. i found that there are deadzone settings tucked away except... i would have given this more time and not refunded, but i cant believe this is a 1.0 release. no really, i cant believe it. theres not even a 1.0 announcement from what i can tell. but actually, what put me over the edge is my parts degrading so much while trying to figure this game out and restarting one race numerous times. i was battling jank and the terrible ai. i was really trying to give this game a chance and approach all the issues i had before deciding to refund. i found all the deadzone settings for steering and braking, finally. that was a complaint, but by that point from the restarts, my suspension parts were too worn down and causing my car to fly forward while turning at low speeds. i had spare parts but not enough, so i abandoned the race because it was literally essential to fix. i go back to the garage, a different wheel is missing now. thats when i realized: im being punished for literally trying to give your game a chance and not refund it. theres no test driving from what i see. how would i know it worked like this? if you dont want people restarting, force a forfeit or accept that people will save scum. my character has 50 dollars and i need to replace so many things now. no thanks. i saw theres a sponsor i can use, but i dont even want to bother. the concept is really cool, but HOLY JANK this is not ready wtf. given how the ai races, im not hopeful. i understand developing racing ai is difficult, but all of this is such a pain in the ass for the player.
Fun game, Handling and gameplay is pretty decent. but the Economy could use balancing, with either a payout increase or by reducing the cost of parts. but still a fun game for what it is.
You do you boss man
this game needs more time to cook in my opinion, it has some cool ideas and i like the concept but it has a lot of problems. the AI drivers seem without eyes and will just ram you if your in their way, this is true of any instance and it derails your race. resetting also isn't worth it in any case as it sends you so far back you're better off just reseting the whole race instead. the grass makes you super slow which i understand but if you get forced off course your race is basically done for. leaving your car mid race seems pointless but to be fair i only played for 20 minutes.
