About

beaterCore is an arcade racing game for those who prefer cheap rusty beaters over specialized sports cars. Buy, repair, restore, and tune your dream project car. Take part in racing events and work your way through the career mode.

Repair your car in first person mode. Purchase furniture and stockpile as many spare parts as you can - you're going to need them.

In beaterCore you'll have to make quick repairs in-between races. Everything can go wrong, and you must be prepared for it! Store items in your car's trunk, but be wise with what you bring with you - space is limited.

Play locally with up to four players on the same screen. Keyboard controls are fully supported!

If career mode is not enough - you can always compete against your friends in online races. You're still going to need your resource management skills - multiplayer races affect your cars the same way as in career mode! Show off your pristine ride, or surprise your friends with track-specific tuning.

Experience tracks across different times of year. Prepare your car for icy winter conditions or enjoy the warm, vibrant colors of autumn.

was at the last lap in a rally course, first place wheel decides to seize, random car comes flying at you and destroys your vehicle, and you spend all your earnings on repairing the car cause you cheaped out on repairs before a big race. 10/10

PRE-UPDATE REVIEW : This game is very poorly balanced. It feels like it's throwing everything it can to make you lose. -AI is glued to the road and will always have faster/heavier vehicles. They will pit maneuver you without any loss to their speed or grip. If you attempt to do the same, you will bounce off and either lose all your speed, or spin over and be forced to reset your car. AI will never lose a tire unless you hit them with the force of the sun. -Once you get off track, you lose all speed almost immediately. At some courses, it is impossible to re-enter the track without resetting your car. -Item durability feels random and quick. It's like burning through parts, and is very difficult to manage constant repairs and constant low funds -Worn items do not de-spawn unless you take them to the trash can. 1/5 of this game could be a walking simulator. -Handling is abysmal unless you're completely flush with all maintenance, even then it leaves much to be desired. It does not seem like AI is affected by this system, it appears you're the only beater in these races. Funny experience, I actually managed to knock off a tire from an AI car, and even racing in a rainy track, it was faster and had better handling than my 4 tires. This game was very fun for the first few races. I thought it was just a learning curve I needed to get through before I can get better. There is no learning curve, only a ramp of frustration POST-UPDATE REVIEW : Balance to this game has been greatly improved with the new update. Staying on top of maintenance no longer feels impossible, and tires are no longer losing rubber like nurses at a high school. Handling feels a lot better since you're able to stay within a healthy durability with most parts reliably. Parts are no longer melting, and money is actually able to be saved for a 2nd vehicle. AI is still heavier and faster than you, but keeping up is an easier challenge. I found that turning off auto shift and manually shifting helps keep speed up, and drifting around corners while maintaining speed is a lot easier. It still feels really difficult to get back on the track without resetting your vehicle, and vehicles still seem to have heavy understeer. I have high hopes for this game, the dev released a great update that addressed the main problem with this game. I hope to see more updates to come soon.
good game hopefully some more updates come out
Great fun. Limp your way to the finish line.
My only real problem is the inability to take corners any way other than with significant understeer. Very easy to lose momentum and very hard to forcefully drift, but pretty satisfying when it happens naturally when hitting a bump. The AI does not seem to have this problem as they almost always overtake you in medium corners. Still haven't earned enough money to purchase a new vehicle after about an hour and a half. Most of it is going into maintaining the starter car, so I'm unsure if later cars fix the oversteer problem. I'll update this review if so. Overall, I enjoy the game for what it is. The graphics are super neat, I'm a big fan of the menus, and I like having to organize your garage. Though, little atmospheric extras would be greatly appreciated. But heck, the game hasn't even been out for a week so you oughta cut it some slack. I'll stay tuned for updates for sure.
