About

beaterCore is an arcade racing game for those who prefer cheap rusty beaters over specialized sports cars. Buy, repair, restore, and tune your dream project car. Take part in racing events and work your way through the career mode.

Repair your car in first person mode. Purchase furniture and stockpile as many spare parts as you can - you're going to need them.

In beaterCore you'll have to make quick repairs in-between races. Everything can go wrong, and you must be prepared for it! Store items in your car's trunk, but be wise with what you bring with you - space is limited.

Play locally with up to four players on the same screen. Keyboard controls are fully supported!

If career mode is not enough - you can always compete against your friends in online races. You're still going to need your resource management skills - multiplayer races affect your cars the same way as in career mode! Show off your pristine ride, or surprise your friends with track-specific tuning.

Experience tracks across different times of year. Prepare your car for icy winter conditions or enjoy the warm, vibrant colors of autumn.

poorly balanced. progression quickly becomes a complicated mess of where is the race I need to complete to get to the race I want to do. find myself having to start over often and play through the beginning of the game over and over which is extremely boring. music is truly terrible. handling model isn't very good with heavy understeer or huge speed loss. drifting is inconsistent because you will flip randomly. this makes it hard to find any method of racing that really works. it is fun replacing parts on your car at first. but they quickly stack up and turn into a management issue that is not a fun gameplay loop. walking parts to the trash isn't why I play video games. The ai feels two to three times as heavy as you. often tboning you or using a PIT move on you. you cant fight back without sliding everywhere. often they will knock off your tire and ruin your race with no penalty. their tires NEVER fall off. so again they are built like tanks and too heavy to push around. paired with excessive aggression makes the ai just not fun to play against. I really enjoyed the concept. but the balance is very poor. the story is hard to engage with or enjoy. the gameplay loop doesn't hold up. the races are kind of bland and boring and maintenance trivial and aggravating.

I really want to like this game, there's so much about it to like but too many issues are weighing it down: -Loss of traction when tires are below 70% feels so arbitrary, and it means you spend all your earnings replacing them. I either don't turn at all or I go into a spin quicker than I entered the corner. -Progression feels painful rather than rewarding, and your money disappears so quickly with the amount of repairs that rack up- even when you've done nothing but race cleanly (I stopped playing because it got so unbelievably frustrating) -AI Rubberbanding is gross, especially considering how many other things can ruin your lead, and getting spun out on a corner on the last lap of the last race in enough to make anyone throw their keyboard out the window. -Racing anything above 1600 feels actually unplayable, and the AI drives like they're glued to the road -Why do I have to walk so far away to throw away old parts??? I really want to go back to this game, and maybe I will after some updates, but for now I'm not wasting my time going into a session of this only to end up miserable after an hour.
The game is mostly fun. However, the rubber banding is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abysmal it's insane. It either ranges from "you're miles ahead from everyone else and it's piss easy" to "There's one driver who's 300 miles ahead and is impossible to catch up to" Oh and the fact that you can randomly turn into a corner and some AI driver zooms into you at mach 3.
Love at first sight. Essentially Wreckfest meets My Summer Car, with a Gran Turismo-style career mode. The driving physics are chunky and physics-y, and everything you do is literally done by hand: Replacing tyres and parts, shopping for items, and stacking your trophies after a win. It's peak, just get it.
Very solid game. The driving is awesome, and there are A LOT of tracks, so many I can't even wrap my head around it. The maps have different surfaces that act differently, there are holes and so on, you need different tires for different environments. Damaging car system is also a novelty, something can break mid race.
A lot of fun, the driving feels good, fixing and upgrading the car and managing your budget is interesting. I'm just a few events in but there is a massive map full of races, incredible amount of content. Haven't tried multiplayer yet but I love that there is both online and splitscreen. (EDIT: deadzone is in the settings, I just didn't see it, there is a small "properties" button next to the control fields) A clear negative right now is the lack of controller stick deadzone setting, when playing with controller the car constantly steers a tiny bit, and the camera rotates a little in the first person view. Dear developer, please add a deadzone setting, or just ignore tiny inputs under 0.05 or something.
I honestly really love the idea behind Beater Core. The whole concept of starting with a beat-up car and slowly building it into something better is really fun, and I’ve enjoyed the progression and customization. There’s something satisfying about working on your car, replacing parts, improving it, and seeing how far you can take it. Even in its current state, I think the game is absolutely worth giving a shot. The game is also very well optimized. That being said, there are a few things I think could make the game even better. I’d really like to see the sponsors actually act like sponsors instead of mainly just lending you their cars. It would be cool to have more sponsor involvement, challenges, rewards, or other ways for them to feel like an actual part of the progression. I also feel like some of the parts are still wearing down a little too quickly. I understand that maintaining the car is part of the game, but sometimes it feels like I’m constantly replacing or repairing things. A little more balance with part durability would make the progression feel smoother. Update ^ This has be addressed already today, thank you devs. Another thing I’d love to see added is achievements. There’s a lot of potential for achievements based around different cars, upgrades, races, repairs, or other milestones. Having those extra goals would give me even more reasons to keep playing. Lastly, in my personal opinion, I think Beater Core should be labeled as Early Access. The game already has a solid foundation and is enjoyable to play, but there are still clearly areas that could use more development. I think an Early Access label would fit the current state really well and would also give the developers more room to continue building on what’s already here. Overall, I really like what Beater Core is trying to do. It has a great idea, it’s already fun in its current state, and I genuinely think it has a huge amount of potential. I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot, especially if you enjoy cars, customization, and watching a game grow over time. I’m excited to see where the developers take it from here.
