I've been looking for a copy of this game forever! huge nostalgia trip going on - it runs exactly like I remember (like crap XD ) Pro tip: in the "included material" of the game is the manual, you have to go to the page it describes for the code to enter the game. But man, was this game fun. def worth the 5 bucks if you played it back in the day. I'm not sure I'd recommend it's dated graphics and mechanics to the young crowd, but its a nice time capsule.

Résultat, ça rame sur mon ordinateur, c'est à la limite du jouable quand il y a plein de soldats à l'écran. On est en 2025 les gars. Reliving my own childhood with my son. Game somewhat holds up. Antiquated lack of convention (no pause shortcut, no scrolling the camera over the map with a keyboard command), but a well-thought out game. When a unit gets stuck in a loop unable to comply with a command, you get amazed at how it doesn't actually happen more often. The 90's were cool.

Excellent game play and really lovely graphics and funny details in the food descriptions during mission briefings. Great childhood memories.

Its intricate puzzles require thought and planning, while feeling unique. The variety of bugs and weapons ensure that no solution is repeated. This game has aged very well since its release in 1994. It is a pause-able RTS with 22 different units that are employed across the 54 (I think) different scenarios. The variety of units means that you have to make a lot of considerations when you plan out your strategy for a given battle. You can tell that a huge attention to detail went into this game and many maps require you to figure out the trick to using your assortment of bugs to full effect and defeat the enemy. The level of difficulty for me is just right were many maps are challenging, but they don't feel impossible. Given a few tries, I have been able to figure out every battle so far. For awareness, you will need to view the manual that is provided via Steam in order to get past the 1994 DRM (password) when you log in.

Instantly bought this for the nostalgia. If you like pause-and-play strategy games even a little and aren't afraid of dated interfaces, you'll love Battle Bugs. It's one of those rare gems that comes along with charm and humor while also having amusingly challenging mechanics. Even the music is well-composed and super fun to listen to, though obviously limited by MIDI. One of my favorite games to this day and the cartoony style helps to mask how old it is. Well worth $5! I hope the exposure on Steam inspires someone to make a sequel some day. Oh, and if this isn't enough to get you to buy the game, it works flawlessly on Steam Deck when you choose original or 720p display, as long as you don't mind using the touchpad or right stick as a mouse. I honestly didn't expect a DOS box game to behave well on the deck.
