This was honestly boring and didn't feel like a backrooms game. There were some decent liminal spaces but thats about it. Pros: + A couple decent liminal spaces Cons: - The "tense" moments were honestly just boring - None of the levels properly felt like the backrooms, I wasn't scared of something potentially being a threat, it was just a maze - The levels with one big open room a giant monster and an exit was badly built, it is faster than you so you just need to hope the game spawns you on the good side of the door - The monster AI were quite crap and most were stuck in place - There was nothing remotely scary about the game Steam Curator Link: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/10995314-Szamer%2527s-Collection/
This is a terrible backrooms experience. They thought they would be cute and put G-man from Half Life in it, and it's also only 40 minutes long. No exploration or the comfy, nostalgia and cozy feelings you get from good backroom games. It's more or less a linear maze. More maze than anything else. They SHOULD call it "Backrooms: dumb maze"

Backroom Level X is a chilling and immersive horror experience that instantly reminded me of The Exit 8, both the game and the movie. The atmosphere is unsettling from the very start—the endless corridors, buzzing lights, and strange details make you feel like you’re trapped in a surreal nightmare. What I really enjoyed is how the game mixes exploration with tension. The puzzles are clever and subtle, encouraging you to notice every little change in the environment, just like in The Exit 8. At the same time, the sound design and visuals constantly keep you on edge, making every step feel uncertain. If you’re a fan of psychological horror that blends mystery, atmosphere, and clever design, Backroom Level X is absolutely worth playing. It’s eerie, addictive, and captures that same uncanny vibe that makes The Exit 8 so memorable.
