The beginning of Backrooms Level X was only scary because of the loud ambient music. Scary because a good backrooms game only has slight ambience or none at all and none at all makes it scarier imo. The background sound when in the backrooms is actually just a loud looping buzz sound which doesnt get me scared at all. The game is not scary and the "jumpscares" that are there seem forced and made for little kids to get scared by 1/10
Ah sim, me assustei com as avaliações positivas.
Backrooms Level X drops you into an endless, unsettling labyrinth of yellow-carpeted rooms where nothing quite makes sense. You explore 13 surreal levels, solve puzzles, and hide from vague, looming threats. It tries hard to capture that faux-documentary, analog-horror feel of the creepypasta origins and other games from the dev’s catalog. Pros ✔️ Neat visuals at times – Some levels nail that off-balance, liminal-space aesthetic. I got that uncanny “what are we even looking at?” buzz in the best spots. ✔️ Ties to their other games – I recognized some of that same eerie tone and design style from their previous Backrooms stuff, which felt comforting in a weird way. ✔️ A bit of variety of environments – It doesn’t just feel like the same corridor recycled forever — there’s enough shifts (giant enemies, puzzles, “normal” rooms) to keep things fresh. Cons ❌ Feels half-baked – It kind of looks and sounds like someone’s cool draft version of a Backrooms game, not a fully polished one. ❌ Gameplay felt off – The controls and pacing didn’t land — felt clunky, puzzle sections were meh, and the scares didn’t stick. ❌ Parts feel like backroom parody – At moments it almost teetered into “this is kind of a joke” territory. Legitimately spooky, but then some parts felt unintentionally DIY-campy. Conclusion I’m glad I gave it a shot — Backrooms territory is always a weird allure. But by the time I reached the end, I was left shrugging. It had flashes of that unnerving feeling, but it never grabbed me fully. I walked away curious, not haunted. Score: 2/5 Memory Flickers A rough flicker of creepy that just didn’t stick — interesting to explore, forgettable to me.
Not worth that kind of price whatsoever
