LOVED THIS GAME, I thought this was just another silly little game, but to my suprise this was one of the greatest experiences ive ever had. i started on earth flying around with the amazing controls, phasing through grounds, exploring new worlds, i even visited the sun, amazing graphics, great soundtrack, heartwarming lore matpat could spend years explaining, all combined with the great character design, this makes b, truly B! one of the greatest games ever creatred. and its free to play too! amazing experience 10\10

b 2017 is one of those tiny games that is really more of a strange little experience than a traditional game. I play as a bumblebee flying around a peaceful grassy area with a big tree in the middle, and that is basically the whole idea. There is no big story or complicated objective waiting for me. I can just fly around, look at the scenery and enjoy the simple environment. It is a very unusual thing to put on Steam, but I actually like how honest it is about what it wants to be. The flying itself is quite relaxing. I can move around the open meadow and explore the area from above, with the day and night cycle changing the atmosphere as I go. There is also weather, which gives the otherwise simple environment a little more life. I like the freedom because I am not being pushed towards objectives or constantly told what I should be doing. I can just fly around at my own pace and take in the scenery. One feature I particularly like is being able to use my own MP3 files for the day and night music. That is a small thing, but it fits the whole idea of the game because it lets me turn the experience into something personal. There is also optional VR support, which makes sense for a game based almost entirely around flying around and looking at the environment. The lack of collisions is intentional too, so I can move around freely without constantly getting stuck on objects. The biggest problem is obviously the lack of actual gameplay. Once I have flown around the meadow and seen the different weather and time of day effects, there is not much else for me to discover. There are no missions, enemies, progression systems or meaningful objectives. I understand that this is deliberate, but it also means I cannot treat b 2017 like a normal adventure or simulation game. It is basically a small virtual space that I can explore for a while. The presentation is simple and clearly built around the environment rather than detailed characters or a large world. The grassy landscape and large tree give me something pleasant to look at, but there is only so much variety I can get from the same basic area. Performance can also depend on how I look around the environment, so it is not completely free from technical limitations. Still, I think the simplicity actually helps the game in some ways because there is nothing complicated getting in the way of the relaxing flying. Overall, b 2017 is an incredibly simple experience, but I think there is something strangely charming about it. I like the freedom to fly around as a bumblebee, the changing weather, day and night cycle, personal music support and optional VR. At the same time, there is almost no traditional gameplay here, so the experience runs out of things to offer me very quickly. I would not recommend it if I wanted a proper game with objectives and progression, but as a tiny free flight experience that lets me relax and explore a meadow, it has its own appeal. Rating: 6.9/10
