Axis Football 2027

Great game for the value, deep franchise mode, improved graphics and tackling system, and seemingly endless customization options (via mods), which is one of my favorite features of any sports video game. Well done!

This game constantly improves and provides a great and engaging franchise mode. The best part about this game is that it's a labor of love from a small, dedicated team of developers that are in constant contact with their fans and actually care what they think. I love it!

I bought this game because I started diving into sports games from smaller studios, such as GOALS, UFL, etc. I did a full Franchise simulation for one year and a little bit of on field gameplay as well. PROS: - Menus are feature rich, with things like league news, team morale, trade requests, and scouting adding immersion - In depth stats, including team rankings, team leaders, league leaders, and hall of records all available at a glance - Simulation time in franchise is very fast (RTX 4070 Ti GPU, I9 CPU, 32 GB RAM) - Tier system option in franchise is unique and adds tons of playability to mode. It acts similar to the European soccer leagues where the bottom team gets relegated and the top team in the lower tiers move up a division - Player attributes are simple and easy to follow - Game visually looks very solid - Momentum tackling system looks good and realistic - Scouting simple, yet manual. One of my biggest gripes with Madden over the last couple of years is that you just set what positions your scouts look for and basically leave it alone until the offseason - "Real" player faces add immersion - Bevy of coaching positions, such as position coaches and coordinators, add depth to franchise - Facilities that carry impacts to certain attributes (good trainers room will positively impact injury chance and injury recovery time) is great - Season stats for player align with attributes. When I looked through who the top five players were in passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, tackles, sacks, and interceptions after the season, most of the players were in the B+ to A overall range - Draft screen is very cool, with sound made when pick is in, ticker on bottom, and option to choose speed of draft. Reminds me of watching the NFL Draft CONS: - Game having issues detecting PS5 controller (wired and overclocked to 4,000 hz using BattleBeaver), works with Xbox Elite Series 2 controller wired - No option to see full roster in franchise, only can see it through the depth chart - Same trades offered multiple times, even after rejecting - No option to sort in draft player pool for just players you have added to your watch list VISUAL GLITCHES: - When browsing players, if you highlight second string or player not at top of list, game automatically highlights top player, making it a tad annoying to try and see stats of other players - Shows multiple tabs highlighted, even though only one should be. Example would be when in menu of franchise, it would highlight the actions tab as well as play next game, even though you are only hovering over the actions tab - Both left and right stick toggle options on franchise menus, making it tough to scroll through items on screen such as awards for offensive and defensive player of week and team rankings - Player movement can feel sluggish at times - Blue line indicating box score being selected in game stats page will also be below LB/RB button guides I have not dove into the team customization aspect of the game yet, but I have heard that previous title have a lot of options. OVERALL: This game is very solid, especially from a smaller studio. It has a very good amount of depth and is well worth the $20 price tag. Definitely recommend giving it a shot.

This game is terrible, pure trash for a football game!!

First time axis tryer, not for me but will follow for future updates. I see the vision, its just a lil clunky and ugly for my taste. Recommending to not hurt the algorithm

Vorne weg, ich steh mit Madden auf Kriegsfuß weil ich es nicht zum laufen bekomme, etwas mit deren Anti Cheat Programm verhindert das es bei mir startet. Hab keine Lust erst an meinem Rechner rum zu Doktoren um ein Programm für 70 Euro zum laufen zu bringen! Axis bringt die wichtigen Sachen zum spielen mit, zumindest das was ich bisher versucht habe (Coachmodus). Ich sehe mir seit 2023 Football in einer Liga unter der 2. Bundesliga live an, für die Winterpause reicht mir Axis Football für etwas über 20 Euro völlig! Und wenn ich sehe was EA in Zukunft vor hat (Microtrans) kommt Madden für mich echt nicht in Frage!

The franchise has come a long way but it still has a long way to go; a real long way to go. Changing my review from positive to negative as I have reached my frustration level with this game on so many levels.
