Reviews
hits the Metroid notes better than some Metroid games. I love how alien and dangerous this place feels, and the music is a huge help for that. Really good time!
Recomendo fortemente.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The year is 2017. A friend of mine sends me 2 pirated games saying "you should try them both, I know you love metroidvanias". One is a game called "Hollow Knight". I play it for a few hours. Looks nice, but it really doesn't catch my attention. The other one is called "Axiom Verge": same, never heard of it. I launch Axiom Verge. I meet a guy named Trace. As time goes on, a stream of dopamine invades me and goes through my body. My family calls me to have dinner with them. I look at the time: it's been 3 hours. I decide to call it a day. The next morning, I wake up at 6 a.m, turn on my PC and launch Axiom Verge. The data files are gone, the game is gone as well. The year is 2025. This game pops up in my Steam's recommended list. I buy it, download it and launch it. "Sorry Trace, I'm late."
I've played through this game a number of times. It is the best metroidvania experience in decades, up there and I feel in many ways surpassing Super Metroid and Castlevania Sotn. There is a deep layered story full of mystery, and to tell ahead, the sequel tries to do some things that arent as polished and fun, but is worth playing for getting a bigger picture of the story, because there are so many frayed ends your missing, but its beautiful, fun, challenging, will throw you for a loop multiple times, this game is the high bar, and i think it destroys the modern metroidvanias. Matrix meets Metroid is def the energy here, if you haven't played this yet and are considering it, jump in, there are a few puzzles you may need to look up to find everything, but most can be found combing through the info you've been given ingame, but even if not your thing, it just hides a few items, you'll still have a good time.
完全に私が悪いだけの話なのだけど、迷う。
This is the best Metroid Clone on Steam, sole issue's it's very challenging, so you need skill even at the lowest difficulty. It's very rewarding when you end up passing the segment that you keep dying and retrying. The fact that even when you die or quit, you never loose progress, it's anti frustration outside the grind of passing a segment. Would recommend. Work fine on Arch Linux and Steam Deck.
Axiom Verge is one of my favorite metroidvanias that I've played in a while. The music is incredible and I love the atmosphere it provides. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys the genre.
