Attack of the Karens

Attack of the Karens es un shoot 'em up divertidísimo que incluye, con acierto, mecánicas de roguelike. Cargado de humor y con una historia clásica, pero lo suficientemente original para sentirse diferente, este juego de naves te invita a rejugarlo una y otra vez hasta alcanzar el final. Con mejoras para nuestra nave, ajustes de dificultad con modificaciones bien implementadas y que hacen se pueda adaptar a todo tipo de jugadores y unos combates llenos de acción frenética, es un juego muy recomendable. Artísticamente es una oda a lo retro, tanto por la elección de la paleta de colores y su detallado pixel art que hacen que se sienta único, como por su espectacular banda sonora de música en 8-bits tipo chiptune. Solo me queda decir que Attack of the Karens ha sido el juego que me ha reencontrado con los shoot 'em up, y que ahora tengo más ganas que nunca de volver a este género. AotK is a 2D shoot em up (shmup) with roguelike elements that was largely made by a sole developer (sans voice acting and some promo art). The purpose of the game is to complete a run, where you defeat 4 robotic-mutated "karens" in a randomized order, leading up to the final encounter. - it has pixel art that oozes charm - it has a fantastic chiptune-esque soundtrack - the voice acting gives great personality to the characters - its humorous - the controls, gameplay, and mechanics all have a level of polish on them that you won't find even on some AAA titles - it is a complete game, with no held-back DLC or microtransactions - you progressively unlock upgrades to make your attempts and runs easier - there's a plethora of modifiers you can use to make the game easier or harder as well - it is priced modestly for the quality of the game if you're fans of shmups and roguelikes where you can just turn your brain off and attempt to finish runs of the game, you'll enjoy this
