For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! is a vibrant and affectionate tribute to the classic Franco-Belgian comics, using the beat ’em up genre as a vehicle to recreate the exaggerated humor and chaotic brawls that defined the original stories. Developed by Mr. Nutz Studio and published by Microids, the game immediately stands out through its hand-drawn visual style. Every character, background, and motion is rendered to resemble the original comic panels, giving the experience the feeling of a living illustration. Rather than opting for 3D models or modern effects, the developers embrace a traditional aesthetic, and this commitment is arguably the game’s strongest asset. Fans of the source material will find instant familiarity in the expressive animations, colorful environments, and the constant flurry of comic-style onomatopoeia that punctuates every punch. At its core, Slap Them All! delivers a straightforward old-school beat ’em up structure. You choose between Asterix and Obelix and battle through waves of Romans, pirates, thieves, and various troublemakers across multiple themed regions. Each stage follows a side-scrolling format, asking players to push forward, clear groups of enemies, and occasionally face simple boss encounters. The controls are streamlined: basic attacks, heavier slaps, a few special moves, and the ability to grapple or throw enemies. The combat is intentionally uncomplicated, which captures the slapstick energy of the comics but limits strategic variety. The thrill comes from chaining hits, juggling groups of foes, and sweeping through crowds with exaggerated Gaulish strength rather than mastering complex mechanics. The campaign takes players through locations inspired by classic Asterix adventures—coastal villages, foreign lands, and Roman encampments—each decorated with detailed backgrounds that echo the original illustrations. These environments help keep the journey visually engaging, but the gameplay loop does begin to feel repetitive as the hours pass. Enemy types recur often, and most encounters involve similar patterns: approach a cluster of foes, punch through them, advance to the next area. For fans of traditional beat ’em ups, this familiarity may feel nostalgic, but those seeking varied enemy tactics or evolving mechanics may find themselves wishing for more depth. Where the game gains new life is in its cooperative mode. Playing with a second person brings the experience closer to the spirit of classic arcade brawlers, and the chaotic, comedic nature of the Asterix universe fits naturally with shared play. Smacking legions of Romans side by side amplifies the humor and lightens the monotony that can occasionally settle in during solo sessions. The game’s difficulty leans toward the easier side, which makes it an inviting option for casual co-op play but may leave seasoned beat ’em up veterans underwhelmed. Beyond the visuals, the music and sound design help capture the playful energy of Asterix’s world. The soundtrack shifts between lively, cartoonish melodies and more atmospheric pieces that match the setting, while the sound effects deliver satisfying slap and thud noises that emphasize the exaggerated combat. The presentation as a whole is charming, though some small technical hiccups or minor performance dips may occur depending on platform. Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! ultimately succeeds most in its role as a faithful, interactive homage to a beloved comic series. Its dedication to replicating the visual style and tone of the original material is impressive, and it provides a breezy, cheerful beat ’em up experience well-suited for short sessions or casual co-op play. However, its simplicity, repetitive enemy waves, and lack of mechanical evolution limit its appeal for players looking for a deeper or more modern take on the genre. For fans of Asterix or those who enjoy straightforward arcade-style brawling, it offers a fun, nostalgic romp. For others, it may feel more like a charming novelty than a fully compelling action game. Rating: 6/10
