I was half-way through Odyssey when I decided to jump on Origins due to story reasons, and what a difference in writing and atmosphere. While Odyssey let you explore amazing fields of flowers and roam the seas to reach greek islands, Origins offers you pyramids and tombs, deserts and oasises. Both main stories are good, but Bayek, as a protector, interacts with children and the egyptian people in a more compassionate way than Kassandra the mercenary. Side stories in Origins are particularly good, unlike Odyssey's feminist pandering and bland fetch quests. While Origins mixes combat and infiltration/sneaking pretty well, Odyssey focuses more on combet with a large array of melee and range skills. Origins has limited healing while in combat (aside from the passives on your weapons) while Odyssey has a skill that you can use as much as you like, due to most enemies having way too much health. Origins' "dungeons" are all varied, while Odyssey has copy-pasted camps and tombs but lets you fight legendary creatures and hunt sect members across the map. Regarding the missions, objectives and locations can be pretty vague in Origins, so you'll be forced to use the eagle + tracking, at times, while Odyssey provides a short description of the location, in addition to the eagle. The 1st DLC for Origins includes a new region and several missions separated between North and South before the final enemy, while the 2nd DLC includes the region of Thebes and 4 Afterlifes areas with multiple locations and tough bosses. I did enjoy the exploration and challenges but the new quests were a bit too much time-consuming and the cosmetic rewards weren't really needed so close to the end. Time for a break before going back to Odyssey and its mysteries of Atlantis.
