Assassin's Creed Mirage

First new Assassin's Creed game I have tried in nine years, and even considering my abandoning of the series long ago, I was instantly hooked by Mirage, not for being a perfect game or having anything resembling a compelling story, but by being the first AC game I've played, I think ever, to get close to what I think an Assassin's Creed should look like philosophically. The world is built to incentivize movement above the streets and alleys below; combat is quick and unwieldy; and, most importantly, 90% of the levels are stealth challenges, with gameplay mechanics completely in step with what those kinds of stealth challenges require. Consistent parkour controls, a hyper-polished but limited tool belt, and an honest-to-God crouch button. Basim's adventure may not top Ezio's or Edward's overall but as far as I'm concerned, he does offer the played Assassin fantasy to players in ways neither of those previous games ever achieved. Also, the drip in this game, very hard.

Will keep trying to play but it's off to a very bad start so far, controls feel super awkward and I haven't found a way to rebind them on controller, I mean X to dodge? Really? In what world isn't A or B the default? I get some people don't like the newer-style AC games but just commit, I for one think Odyssey is the best AC we've gotten so far and you've now given me Odyssey only to progressively downgrade each game after. Maybe things'll turn around as I get further in but it doesn't look promising.
