ARMORED CORE™ VI FIRES OF RUBICON™

Highly satisfying feeling of destructive power. You pilot a massive arsenal into battle, dispatching lesser mech, helicopters, and tanks with reckless abandon. Then, the enemies show up with something that makes you say "I'm supposed to fight that?" There's good variety too, because sometimes the enemies show up with something that absolutely dwarfs you, or sometimes they show up in a superfast AC that you can't hit for the life of you. You have to try a lot of different configurations to win. I enjoyed the frosty, industrial design of Rubicon as well; it matches well with the tone of the story. It really feels like you're fighting a pointless, endless war in a desolate hellscape with a handler who talks you like you're piece of robotic meat; so, it's really satisfying when your character gets to develop a story of their own. This probably won't go down as the greatest mech game of all time, but as of 2026 I'd say the greatest mech game made so far.
