Good MMO + PVP + team based strategy about WAR and only war. Plus: game duration = 2 months (not everlasting game). Plus: not necessarily "pay to win". This is 24/7 real time, 4X tactic - strategy game only about WAR. If You want it -> You will love it. If You not ready for constant war -> this game is not for You.
The game is good, and here's why I think that. It starts off slow but the more you do every kind of activity, the better you get at it. It's like a sandbox RPG in an RTS setting, and to me that's pretty cool! There is no activity too big or too small in terms of progression, all you need is to read the discord's guides and talk to people, as the game has somewhat of a steep learning curve. It will keep you moderately busy or fully engaged depending on what tasks you choose to do at the time. There is a cash shop but I think it doesnt imbalance the game. What free games want to survive and improve without monetization, right? I spent $1, joined the most recent world 5 days late, and I can somewhat be useful and compete even playing catch up or having very aggressive neighbours. You compete against other players and their strategies, and also against the clock if you really want to play competitively. I'd give the game 7-8/10 just based on the learning curve and strategies involved.
Warning: Third Party Account This game requires you to create a third party "Arkheim - Realms at War" account... there's no valid reason for this in a PC game when SteamWorks is available. This is often done to harvest private data and profile you, with potential sale and transmission of your private data to third parties. The developers will probably argue that you can trust them, but if they were trustworthy they wouldn't demand you create a third party account. This represents a considerable risk to gamers due to the privacy and security implications of developers that wish to bypass Steam and harvest user data. Remember, sometimes if the product is free, YOU are the product.

Warning: Microtransaction infested mobile app! This mobile app is infested with a toxic mobile app cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the mobile app.
"Arkheim - Realms at War" is one of thousands of nasty mobile apps infesting the "free" section of Steam, but it's not really free. This yet another mobile scam, although this one isn't from China (wow), it's instead from Germany, giving China a run for their money down to the absolute dregs of what might be called a "game". This one is your usual iPhone tapping "city builder", which of course is misleading, this plays of course like many mobile apps do, as a timegated idler/tapper where you tap on stuff and wait (or pay lots of money, because money is what this is really all about... it's not free). It's also deep in development hell. There's only a superficial game here. The mobile app visuals and the game itself are incredibly shallow... think of them as the cabinet dress theme on a poker machine at the casino. That's basically what this is. So really, the mobile app "game" is just a veneer, a thin skin wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app cash shop. Putting that toxic mobile app monetisation aside... this is a mobile app. I didn't spend thousands on a gaming PC so I could pretend it's an iPhone, and I don't think you did either... this kind of mobile app has no place in your Steam library. This has swept past any reasonable expected timeframe for delivery and is only getting token updates. There's no reason to think it will ever be finished. This unfinished mobile app is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. Despite not being able to finish the mobile app, the developers apparently had all the time in the world to build that fully functional cash shop, and financial transaction back-end system into the mobile app. That shows the developers primary goal was just to set out to gouge cash from Steam gamers just like mobile devs do with mobile peasants. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the mobile app peaked at less than 100 concurrent players, they couldn't even break three figures, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough. You deserve better than mobile app cash grabs.
