Great game, very creative level design and interesting visuals. It isn't just a Heretic/Hexen spiritual successor it's more of its own thing, it veers more into lovecraftian and "trippy" imagery. The DLC is great also, even better in some ways. There's the odd puzzle thats a bit obtuse, like the late/end game coloured portal level, but overall had a blast. It's better than Dusk IMHO.

very good, enjoyed every second of it. definitely not as good as ultrakill, but it has a unique way about it that makes it very fun and refreshing. the weapons are absolutely peak, especially in the dlc, i love beating the ♥♥♥♥ out of monsters with my fists. i only have two gripes. i felt like some of the bosses were almost too easy. there were 3 that i will give credit too (solar saint, two dragons and axe of the labyrinth) that i will say were decently challenging and fun. i also found this game a little anticlimactic, but that might just be a personal thing. highly recommend this game if you like ultrakill and want something refreshing.

The player is so fast, he out-ran my depression. The weapons are cool and unique and the gameplay is tight, unlike your mom. Me likey
a nice mixture of quake and heretic
An incredible retro FPS. I love the overall magic-based fantasy theme and while the story is 2nd to gameplay it's still not bad. All of the levels have a great and consistent theme and same goes for the enemies. They come in a large variety and make each level feel different and makes the player adapt to it rather than use the same strategies every time. The weapons feel great to use, not just because of their AWESOME visual and sound effects but also because of their balancing and how they fit into the game. The bosses are also pretty darn good, although I found some of them to be too easy in this above average difficulty game. A solid 9/10, would reccommend.
If you grew up playing Hexen and/or Heretic, Amid Evil is a must buy. It’s exactly what I was hoping it would be. The planet gun functions as the game’s rocket launcher. It’s by far my favourite weapon and there’s something very satisfying about hurling planets and stars at enemies.
