Feels like a wizard gave Doom a crystal meth makeover. Loud, shiny, and absolutely glorious. 10/10
Какая-то рыгота, импакта нет, уровни кишочно-простые, исследовать не хочется. Враги одинаковые, оружие одинаковое.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Visually this game is amazing, one of the rare games where I would stop what I'm doing just to appreciate the environment. The combat is pretty standard boomer shooter, I think the weapons are a bit more interesting than most boomer shooters however in terms of their special effects. Bosses aren't very interesting. Music is good. Each world has it's own set of enemies, and while for the most part they differ in just stats (health, movement speed, etc.) some have interesting effects specific to them for example one enemy can reflect your shots. Overall the gameplay I feel is on par with other good boomer shooters (Dusk, Boltgun, etc.) but the visuals lift the game above those imo, so I'd definitely recommend if you enjoy boomer shooters.
Amid Evil has 7 chapters and only 2 are well designed + the opening chapter is ok. So, 4 bad chapters, they are either big open levels for no reason really or levels where you have to walk on narrow high passageways while fighting enemies. I really don't know who thought that levels where you have to watch your step while fighting would be fun. Bad level design in 4 chapters. If you are playing this game start with hard difficulty, normal is really easy. You cannot change the difficulty during the episode without losing progress. I thought this game was more like Hexen. I was wrong. This is just a shooter like Quake but instead of guns you shoot with magic weapons. The combat is average. The weapon roster is standard, one melee weapon and many magic shooting things :) Can't complain about combat really. The 2 chapters that are well designed stand out like a sore thumb. Some really good level design, the flow of combat is better and I felt motivated to find secrets. That wasn't the case in badly designed chapters because I rushed through them. I really don't know what to say about the graphics. The game was made in Unreal Engine 4 and it looks weird in most levels but that is just my opinion of course. OST is boring, the sound design is ok. I finished this game so, can I recommend a game based on 2 very good chapters ? Nope. Not worth your time.
Awesome atmosphere, Cool weapons, Classic gameplay, RECOMMENDED.
Great game. Captures the classic formula while improving on it in every way. 5/5
I enjoyed AMID EVIL a lot more than I expected, and I feel that it is relatively underrated. The levels are large, visually and aesthetically stunning, and very entertaining to complete. Level design is amazing honestly, probably my favorite aspect of the game. Weapon roster is small but finely tuned, every weapon feels impactful and fun to use. Having completely different and unique enemies for each of AMID EVIL's 7 episodes is a novel aspect and really sets the game apart. Not every enemy archetype is vastly different and some of them feel a little too similar to each other, but the enemy variety really kept the game feeling fresh until the end. Not super long but also not very short, I really liked this game's runtime. I played on the secret EVIL difficulty (which is tucked away in the game's Difficulty Select stage) and I thought the challenge was satisfying and balanced, without creating artificial difficulty. And THE BLACK LABYRINTH DLC is AMAZING HOLY COW! A must play. Overall, I think AMID EVIL doesn't get quite enough recognition when compared to its highly praised boomer shooter brethren, such as DUSK, PRODEUS or CULTIC. Which is a shame, because this game is so great!
You will enjoy this game if you want to run through maps with beautifully retro and psychedelic graphics while using unique weapons to kill scary badass enemies in different ways. Bored of using your magic wand? Use your staff that throws exploding balls. Yeah, pretty much this game is awesome for running around and killing ♥♥♥♥ with dope visuals. There are some puzzle/maze elements but it's not much of a struggle to figure that out. It took me ~8 hours to play through the game on the easiest mode. Many times I could run through levels without ever dying but then sometimes I would get stuck in the same area over and over using manual saves and reloads to not lose my mind. The bosses are cool and whatever but not much of a challenge usually. AMID EVIL is a game that can be played while watching a podcast or talking on the phone. I look forward to the DLC going on sale in the future so I can play through that.
Pretty good, Amid Evil is a high speed boomer shooter with great feeling weapons. Everything runs super smooth and the main draw is it feels like a modern take on Quake, Doom, or UT, where you can slaughter massive hoards of monsters. Enemy's, weapons, and bosses are interesting and each have their own mechanic. You can literally shoot planets with one wand. As for weakness's: Level design while very interesting in some parts (actually hard to find secrets) feels a bit dragged out for the sake of padding hours, enemy's constantly spawn behind me to trap me which gets tedious after the 20th time it happens. Personal preference, but I think they over did the floatyness. Some of the platforming is difficult because I overshoot due to it. (Land on the correct platform and proceed to slide right off) There's also an unfortunate contrast where if you fall off a high ledge you suddenly lose all your velocity. Overall solid game, I had a blast.
May have been novel when it first came out, but it’s been surpassed by others in its field by now. Don’t waste your time.
