About
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Aliens universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

Join our Discord server, Marine.
Expanding from three to four players, AFE2 introduces deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition. New and improved classes each bring distinct playstyles and tactical abilities to the fight, making every squad combination feel different.
The iconic xenomorphs are more ferocious than ever before. AFE2's massive variety of new xenomorphs will force players to stay mobile, maintain situational awareness, and use every tool at their disposal. From stun batons for up close melee action in those most desperate moments, to pyro and electric ammo to whittle down the unrelenting xenomorph front before they overrun you and your squad, the battle can shift from calculated tension to desperate last stand in seconds.
Beyond expanded weapon and gear customization, AFE2 introduces the Specialist – a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.
AFE2 launches with multiple dedicated Horde maps that push squads to their limits. Battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper into the onslaught. This is where teamwork and skill are tested at their absolute peak.

An unworthy sequel! A soulless copy of the original, partly with poorer graphics. Game is completely missing the Alien atmosphere.
。。 I played the previous game, so I wondered if this one would be fun too. I bought it thinking it might be newer and better compared to the previous entry, but… Honestly, if you own the first one, that feels like enough. Setting aside things like the overall sluggish feel and the many dark scenes that are hard to see — which seem to be a deliberate artistic choice — there's an inexcusable bug where if the host disconnects mid-game and it reloads, a door that should open won't open, making it impossible to progress. ¥6,490 (or ¥9,130 for the 40th Anniversary Edition) is too expensive for this quality. If you want to play it, it might sit better with you to wait for a sale before buying...

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 1.1 Its actually insane to charge $50 for this when its a glorified mission pack at best, except, its even worse than that because you're also required to regrind your way through the classes again. Lacks basic features like text chat in a coop game, has very questionable optimization, and just in general feels unpolished and clunky to play. I just really don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ they've been doing for the past 5 years because it certainly hasn't been making a good game.
I'm gonna say that this game has some notable improvements over the first game, but .. it comes with some glaring issues. 1. It is not well built. Drones kind of stutter step around to the point you can't hit them easily, enemies get stuck in the roof and walls of hallways, etc. 2. I keep having issues where I get stuck at the end of a mid-mission cutscene and the only way out of it is to alt+f4 and rejoin. This caused me to rage quit after it happened mid-second to last mission. 3. The writing of Piper and Raptor is god awful. And you will be stuck listening to Piper more than anyone else. It's pretty terrible. Only idiots complain that the main cast is mostly female but these two talk in terrible ways and they do not appreciate the situation of you facing off for your life. If I had to deal with one or the other okay. But these characters are just caricatures. One inch depth of personality. Who wrote these two? 4. The sheer bugs of the character models is insane. Guns don't sit in grips, emotes dont work, etc 5. Sometimes you just can't pick up med packs for some reason. 6. Mid..mission..cutscenes... why?
Don't listen to the newbies, if you played the first one and found some joy in it, you WILL find this game fun.
I put over 500 hours into the original Aliens: Fireteam Elite, and I absolutely loved it. What made that game special for me was the teamwork. Getting together with friends, coordinating classes, watching each other’s backs, and fighting through waves of Xenomorphs was incredibly satisfying. That’s why Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is such a massive disappointment. There are plenty of upgrades and more variety here, and I genuinely wanted to love this game. Unfortunately, almost everything that made the original so enjoyable feels worse or more frustrating in the sequel. For starters, the game looks and feels worse than its predecessor, even on Ultra settings. The visuals lack the impact I expected from a sequel, and the overall presentation doesn't feel like a meaningful step forward. Then there’s the combat. The hit detection is absolutely horrible. Weapon bloom is excessive, and shooting enemies often feels imprecise and unsatisfying. You can unload into an enemy without getting a clear sense of where your bullets are actually landing or whether they are having the impact they should. Gunplay in a game like this needs to feel tight and responsive, and right now it simply doesn’t. Even your teammates' character models are constantly clipping into themselves and the environment while moving. This isn't something you can fix by turning down your graphics settings. It just looks unfinished. The lack of text chat is another baffling decision. In a cooperative game built around teamwork, communication is incredibly important. When the screen is filled with enemies and everything descends into chaos, being able to quickly communicate with your team should be a basic feature. Without it, coordination becomes unnecessarily difficult. And then there are the classes. I honestly don't understand why the class system has been made so convoluted. The original concept was easy to understand: Rifleman, Heavy Weapons, Medic, Specialist, etc. You could immediately understand what a class was supposed to do and how it fit into the team. Here, the terminology and structure feel needlessly complicated and, in some cases, completely disconnected from what I would expect from the Aliens universe. The bugs don't help either. I've repeatedly run into situations where I can't pick up an item unless I'm standing in an absurdly specific position. It's the kind of thing that should have been caught during testing, and when you're already dealing with frustrating combat and communication issues, these little problems become incredibly irritating. I really hate writing a review this negative because I genuinely wanted this game to succeed. I loved the original. I wanted more Aliens: Fireteam Elite. I wanted a bigger, better version of the cooperative experience that kept me playing for over 500 hours. Instead, I'm left incredibly disappointed. In fact, this is the first Steam game I've ever felt strongly enough about to request a refund for. There are some good ideas here, and I can see the effort that went into expanding the game. But for me, the fundamentals aren't there. The gunplay doesn't feel right, the communication tools are inadequate, the class system is unnecessarily confusing, the presentation feels like a step backward, and the bugs make the whole experience feel unfinished. As someone who absolutely loved the original, I can't recommend this sequel in its current state. I really hope the developers listen to the community and address these issues, because I desperately wanted to love this game.
