Engage in pulse-pounding shootouts against cutting-edge enemy AI straight out of the futuristic realm of 1997.
Embark on 14 daring missions as Secret Agent John Walter, an elite operative tasked with saving the world from his arch-nemesis, Dominic Pulp. Protect the future against the phantoms of the past.
Traverse skyscrapers, nightclubs, museums, catacombs, and snow bases in a heart-pumping journey of espionage.
Play the entire campaign as a one-man army or alongside friends via split-screen and online cooperative play!
Each story mission is a self-contained environment where you have to accomplish varied objectives, such as hacking terminals, stealing secret plans, freeing civilian hostages, and much more… all while fighting armed guards in epic shootouts, of course.
3 Difficulty Levels
Every mission can be completed in 3 distinct difficulty modes (Agent, Special Agent, and 64 Agent). With higher difficulty comes more objectives, and more open areas to discover.
(Tip: Start with Agent to familiarize yourself with the missions, then ramp up the difficulty to discover what comes next.)
By beating par times and other trials, you can unlock Paradox Modes, which contain 70+ modifiers and cheats that enable various effects on regular gameplay, including:
Big Heads
Melee Disarms
Slow Bullet Speeds
No Reload
…and many more!
Ready for an unorthodox challenge? Complete Contracts: remixed missions with different objectives and Paradox mode pre-sets for additional Paradox unlocks.
Fight against friends in local split-screen multiplayer combat, or take the gunfight online with up to 8 players and 8 additional bots.
Enjoy full lobby customization including teams, weapon set, rule sets and paradox modifiers, with up to 10 saved pre-sets to your liking.
Deathmatch: Classic deathmatch, score the more frags to win!
Briefcase: Capture the briefcase and hold it for long enough to score a point. But don't get too comfortable, after each point won, the briefcase position is reset to a random point on the map.
Zone: You have to capture the zone on the map to score points. Don't let any enemy contest it as it will stall the countdown!
Challenges: special matches against pre-set bots where players must reach a precise score under a certain amount of time. The faster you win, the better the prizes. Unlock maps, characters, music tracks, and more!

Incredible tribute to GoldenEye and Perfect Dark! Feels like a lost expansion pack for these games that didn't fit on the original carts. Highly recommended!
A goldeneye successor with online coop, splitscreen coop, online pvp, splitscreen pvp, achievements, modes to unlock, and secrets to find. What more can you ask for

This is honestly one of the greatest send ups to old school Rareware shooters pf the N64 era. I've spent all my current hours just trying to complete all the different difficulty levels for each stage in Act 1, along with all the bonus challenges. The different difficulty selections are more than just "numbers go up" like so many other shooters. You actually get different levels of control to your weapons, alternate tasks/routes and enemy AI that actually knows how to clock you in seconds if you're not being careful. It actually makes the experience 10x more exciting, and creates that drive to want to beat the stage again right after you finish one mode. My only wish. is if the Mode Select screens could also show which Mode has the Par and how long it is, so that I don't need to play the ENTIRE stage first and then only see it afterwards. Also would help in case I step away from the game and then come back to it later, and have forgotten what the Par time is.
Great game and a great loveletter to the games that brought you here (goldeneye,PD,timesplitters) With this being developed by a very small studio (is it more than 1 or 2 people?) so the 20 dollar asking price is very doable and honestly so is the supporter edition. Game runs well obviously, the gunplay is great and I have tried the split-screen coop and its fun too. Definteily a nostalgic trip but with a fresh story. Wish it was a little longer. MP is not working atm? AT least i couldnt get in a match, but thats not why im really here for the game. 9/10
I never owned the N64 growing up as I had Playstation 1, but a friend owned Goldeneye and I enjoyed playing it. This game really harkens back to those retro 90s shooters and its SO fun to play. Music is funky and I also really like the additional side content, such as time trial runs and extra objectives on higher difficulties. The only negative I'd give the game was, when using controller, the game didn't seem to show what the button config was. I had to randomly press buttons to see which button did what. I also found despite having a fairly decent PC, that this game seemed to make my computer run quite hot, the fans were going crazy. As per the System Requirements and the fact this is emulating a 90s game with minimal graphics - I thought this was odd. Can the developers confirm why this might be happening? Something in the background thats hogging GPU power I don't know.. I can play way more demanding games like RE4 Remake quite comfortably, so I was surprised to say the least. I lowered some settings and even set a FPS cap to see if this would improve things but it didn't :( I also had a very strange glitch using PS5 controller where the both sticks were inverted, so even navigating the main menu or moving the character was backwards. Had to use Steam Input to fix this. And before someone says it - I have a high end PC and a mid range gaming PC. I mainly use the mid range one for retro games purely to save space on my newer PC for new games (which take up a lot of space) Worst comes to worst I could always just play this on the new PC as it hardly requires much data (something I love by the way) This could just be the very warm weather we've had lately too, so don't let this put people off playing - because the game is a blast to play through. Replaying missions and running in a state of flow is so satisfying when trying to beat the mission timer.
If John Wick released in the 90s, this would be the next game Rare made in the Goldeneye and Perfect Dark lineup. Plenty of bang for your buck: Each level has 3 difficulty modes with extra objectives for each Each difficulty has an unlockable cheat mode for beating par time Extra Challenge Modes for levels Hidden Objects for 100% Co-op I hope the developer considers making a Perfect Dark-like next with slightly better tech and effects look from Perfect, some Aliens, Sci-Fi shenanigans, and Joanna Dark's sister or cousin, Roanna Dusk in the spiritual sequel Perfect Dusk. Have Dom, Walker, and Dana as cameo's.
A tight, very well composed love letter to Perfect Dark & 007: Goldeneye. Beat the game in 3 hours in Co-op, has some replayablity, secrets, and challenges in the vein of classic console fps games. 9.10
From a simpler time, a breath of fresh air. Sequel, plz
Amazing game, beat it in one sitting and left wanting more. Im very much anticipating the next update and hope that maybe this can get mapping tools or mod support.
