Embark on 14 daring missions as Secret Agent John Walter, an elite operative tasked with saving the world from his arch-nemesis, Dominic Pulp. Protect the future against the phantoms of the past.

3 Difficulty Levels
Every mission can be completed in 3 distinct difficulty modes (Agent, Special Agent, and 64 Agent). With higher difficulty comes more objectives, and more open areas to discover.
(Tip: Start with Agent to familiarize yourself with the missions, then ramp up the difficulty to discover what comes next.)
By beating par times and other trials, you can unlock Paradox Modes, which contain 70+ modifiers and cheats that enable various effects on regular gameplay, including:
Big Heads
Melee Disarms
Slow Bullet Speeds
No Reload
…and many more!
Ready for an unorthodox challenge? Complete Contracts: remixed missions with different objectives and Paradox mode pre-sets for additional Paradox unlocks.
Fight against friends in local split-screen multiplayer combat, or take the gunfight online with up to 8 players and 8 additional bots.
Enjoy full lobby customization including teams, weapon set, rule sets and paradox modifiers, with up to 10 saved pre-sets to your liking.
Deathmatch: Classic deathmatch, score the more frags to win!
Briefcase: Capture the briefcase and hold it for long enough to score a point. But don't get too comfortable, after each point won, the briefcase position is reset to a random point on the map.
Zone: You have to capture the zone on the map to score points. Don't let any enemy contest it as it will stall the countdown!
Challenges: special matches against pre-set bots where players must reach a precise score under a certain amount of time. The faster you win, the better the prizes. Unlock maps, characters, music tracks, and more!

pretty good. definitely has the feel. Hope they add more variety of guns. Perhaps make the silenced weapsons more steath. Enemy AI seems to react to them the same as any weapon
A great successor to Goldeneye! 10/10
waited years for this game. it was worth the wait. it's a perfect throwback to games like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark

It's a very fun Goldeneye tribute! I like that it's a lot meatier of a challenge. I also like that it focuses on the absurd combat prowess you had in those games because of the auto aim. I think the later Timesplitters games and the recent fan remake really goofed not having that N64 era auto aim, and this game actually ratchets it up, letting you target dudes from across an entire room without having to aim. My biggest criticism is the aim mode with a mouse desperately needs to be fixed. The mouse smoothing and Wii style camera movement when your crosshair is at the edge of the screen don't feel good. The devs should really look at the M+KB mod for Goldeneye/Perfect dark to see how aim mode should work with a mouse. It's a shame because I find myself going for headshots a lot less than I would otherwise because of this issue.
Thank you for making this.
This game is phenomenal.
Incredible
Agent 64 was exactly what I was hoping it would be, with a few concessions. ########################## # Like Goldeneye, Different Enough # ########################## Most online discussion around this game has to do with how similar it would be to Goldeneye and/or Perfect Dark. It does a great job of paying homage to both games, but manages to do enough of its own thing to set itself apart. Funny enough, I actually feel that the scenery of the game fits more Timesplitter than it does either other game at times. The control scheme feels right on both a controller and a mouse/keyboard for me. While I understand most FPS games have a very specific control style that people have gotten used to, the objective here was to try to infuse the feel of the games this was inspired by into the keyboard/mouse feel. It would make more sense to think of it like using a cheat device that translates your keyboard and mouse into controller inputs rather than being true keyboard and mouse. Once you have that understanding, the control scheme feels really nice. You can really dial it in to the point where you are turning corners and instantly head-shotting enemies before they have a chance to react. #################### # Rewards Feel Great, But... # #################### One of my main points of criticism is something I have seen on the discussion forums a few times. Some people really want to just be able to beat the game from start to finish on Agent to get the full story and don't want to be forced to move away from it. You don't need to constantly move away from it, but the unlock system leaves room to be desired. On the other hand, if you're not bothered by that, it's actually quite the fun time. The challenges and contracts keep the game feeling fresh. One of the earliest contracts unlocks Nightmare which takes inspiration from Doom's "Nightmare" difficulty where enemies will pop back up after a certain amount of time. It gives the game an even greater sense of stress when having to look both forward and behind all of the time. During the demo, some of the "par" times to unlock the different modifiers were a bit crazy to try to achieve for the average player. Since then, they have been made more reasonable. I've gotten a few without really having to think too much about it. Like in its contemporaries, the focus is on figuring out to know who you absolutely need to take down and who you can swing past with just enough flexibility to make it to the end alive with all objects completed. Trial and error is not necessarily a downside when it comes to trying to perfect a game. Most games have some degree of it and require the player to be able to adapt on the fly. You certainly get rewarded for memorization, but nothing outside of these challenges really require it. ############ # Future Hopes # ############ The game developer has already stated that the workshop support will be an update at a later date. It would've been great to have it during release, but it's something I would much rather they get right rather than trying to rush it. A lot of the criticism about the game can definitely be addressed with mods. Would be cool to get a more traditional FPS mod for the game just to see how much different the game feels with a modern control scheme. Similarly, it would be cool to get a bit more fine tuning on how the AI can react. Those with the skills to do so could bring their own missions into the game which could make for some exciting unofficial expansions to the game in the same way we have seen games like Doom and Quake thrive. ############# # Final Thoughts # ############# I feel like the game at its release has a lot more pros than cons, but I can see some of the criticism from those that don't understand what was appealing about Goldeneye or Perfect Dark when put into the context of their respective original releases. Even playing those games in emulation doesn't quite capture the feel or spirit that people had at release and how well these games played for those times. Sometimes it's nice to see a game developer forego the trends and stick in their trenches about leaning heavier into that specific feel while still injecting quality of life where they see fit. Once I have sunk about 30-40 hours into this game, I plan to update this review a bit more. I will likely be playing some online multiplayer, co-op, and messing around wtih unlocking more of the modifiers during this time. I might have some feedback on the variety of those modifiers and how they affect the game.
