best RTS game ever made

Old good game.

I'm heavily biased when it comes to this one. I played through the campaign, I would dare hundreds of times, and I'll still download it from time to time to get one more run. It's a great title, that as other AoW is focused a bit on story, alongside the main pillar, so lovely strategy game. It's a shame, that in next titles they didn't embrace more global spells and stationary main characters, that you could "dock" and use a main powerhouse when it comes to magic. Despite age, it's a good title, that you can still spend with a couple hours! Or more! PS For higher resolution look for mods!

I've played later titles and earlier titles of their Age of Wonders series, and this remains the all time best age of Wonders game ever made in my opinion. It's better than 1, it's better than 3, it's simply the best of the series. You have three different layers to the map depending on which map you're playing, the overworld, the underworld, and the shadow realm. Unlike other games that do this, the shadow realm actually has different mechanics than the other two. The campaign is nothing to write home about, which has been the case for pretty much every AoW game, but it's passable. Still it's one of the best turn based strategy games I've ever played, and if you challenged me to name a better one I might not actually be able to!

Ulepszona wersja tronu czarnoksiężnika. Więcej magów, jednostek, nowych czarów i umiejętności. Stare rasy dostały nowe skile na odświeżenie.
