Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 13 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Soulless, buggy game. Can't even close correctly, you have to restart steam to properly close it.
The game has some interesting and enjoyable moments, especially in the tactical combat part, but it quickly becomes boring, and it's hard to pinpoint the exact issues. There are numerous factions that have very few differences; what is the purpose of having so many similar ones? The game would be more engaging with fewer factions but with more distinct features. This issue leads to problems with tactics, as there isn't much room for variability and replayability. The backstory is simply bad; it's filled with clichés and is so obviously a filler that it's just sad. It is the only Paradox strategy game to which I will never return for another playthrough.
Game will crash at certain points and you can't get by them. I guess I can go back a few saves and try to do things differently and that will make a difference but it is super frustrating. I'm 7 turns from victory in a 167 turn game so I don't want to give up on the planet. It's ridiculous that there is a lot of chatter on this without any updates to fix the issues.
woof
TL;DR: The game is fun, and worth getting. Wait until a sale if you are unsure. I definitely recommend this game. This was my first AoW game which allowed me to experience the title without any preexisting bias from previous titles. I have just as many hours on AoW4. In many ways I like certain aspects of Planetfall more than AoW4. I know this goes against a general mindset of traditional players of the series but there is very little that is bad about this game and most people that dislike it seems to be entirely due to it attempting something new. Many of these mechanics are even used in some form after being polished in AoW4. The only part that didn't feel the greatest to me was some of the campaigns felt a bit lackluster and some of the races are a bit unbalances such as the oathbound. I primarily enjoyed adding planets to my empire and the unlocking of artifacts, a feature I sorely miss in AoW4 as I feel a lack of achievement or maybe progression without that feature once you have completed all of the unlocks.
This game is typical great example of the using drogs damage your brain. Unbalanced, time waste game.
It is not a bad game, but the colors exspeacilly on the batlle maps and the overview ist bloody awful. If you are too close with the camera you may not see the flying units, too far and you just see nothing because of the colors. Don´t get me wrong, some maps are fine, but some are so agressiv in my eyes. So sad that they changed to this sector system and no longer have the civ style as it was in AoW3 which I think was much cooler. AoW4 faces the same problem sadly. But still thumbs up so far, as a game itself has depth and is fun to play with others.
Fun but challenging.
