Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 14 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

better than AOW4 tbh. having individual spells pushed to a research panel so you can choose to never take any spells you don't want is way better than having spells come bundled in spellbooks so that every spell you like comes along with several free spells you don't want. which is especially a problem when all of your strongest units come from said spell books even when you're trying to roleplay a character who isn't a summoner & completely overrides your chosen civilization as a creative choice, making all of your matches play the same. this game with mods > AOW4
For those that are wondering, this game is nothing like the game Civ games. I am honestly confused why nobody pointed it out in any of the reviews I went looking about this game before I bought it. This is basically poor man Heroes of Might & Magic (HoMM). The graphics is "better" just because it is 3D. The gameplay is subpar relative to it. HoMM felt much more magical with the environment, units, buildings, equipments and SPELLS. Everything in this game felt so much smaller in scale. The unit felt 'weak', you get 'more' units with the hexagon fights but it doesn't feel as mighty as HoMM. Also the AI is horrendous, so they get significant amount of boost in resources etc etc etc, so there is no realistic way for you to beat them in the campaign unless you know the map ahead of time, which makes the campaign extremely offputting. Also, the story is mediocore in the campaign. TLDR; get HoMM games (2 or 3 is the best) if you want to play something like this.

Лично для меня одна из самых любимых стратегических игр. Играл во все части кроме 4.Так что опыт какой ни какой есть. Любителям похаговых стратегий рекомендую!
Great game, and compared to AoW 1+2 it has just the right boost to graphics to make it look good by modern standards and in 4k, something i think the series really needed. All in all a worthy sequel, but unfortunately also the last in a great series, before Paradox stepped in and ruined every subsequent version with their usual endless stream of overpriced DLC's.
Unbalanced sandbox vs a campaign that disregards the mechanics of the game exclusively. It's not really very fun. It's as if the devs who made the game and those who decided how the player interacts with the game had zero communication.
Age of Wonders III is a turn-based strategy game that closely resembles the Heroes of Might & Magic series, blending tactical combat with empire-building in a fantasy setting. The campaign modes, while on the shorter side, can still take several hours per game, with lengthy missions that, at times, may feel slow-paced. This isn't necessarily a downside but can make sessions drag on, especially if you're hoping for quicker gameplay. The game’s strategic depth is impressive, offering plenty for hardcore strategy enthusiasts to explore. Graphics-wise, it's visually decent—nothing too exciting, but solid. The same applies to the music, which provides standard strategy game ambiance without standing out. One notable aspect is the way the world map works. Unlike in Heroes, where resource nodes are captured by visiting them, Age of Wonders III ties resources to city boundaries that expand as a city’s population grows. This system means that as long as a node falls within your city’s borders, you’ll benefit from it, making it harder for opponents to seize your resources without capturing the city itself. However, this does leave many nodes and buildings on the map feeling redundant, as they're unusable unless claimed through city expansion. The campaign stories, while serviceable, are generally forgettable. For a Heroes veteran, adjusting to Age of Wonders III’s unique mechanics, particularly around city management and resource collection, may take some time. Overall, it's a good strategy game—not outstanding, but solidly enjoyable for fans of the genre.
Amazing story, good mechanics - simple and elegant. What I like a lot is the fact that the game's different features manage to increase the complexity of the gameplay exponentially not linearly - an uncommon feat. I like the combination of styles and lore drawn from various fantasy worlds, many elements seem rooted in generic fantasy tropes, but the result is far from trite. It is not exactly beginner-friendly, and if you don't know what you are doing the campaigns could seem nearly impossible even on normal difficulty, but once you learn the ropes it becomes fairly straightforward to devise an effective strategy. The story, despite the lack of cinematics or immersive cutscenes, is very rich. I particularly enjoy the mission briefings—the artwork and dialogue before each mission are amazing. The voice acting is incredible—some of the best and most expressive I’ve ever encountered in a game. The visuals are also stunning—many images are worthy to be put in a frame. Despite the fact that AOW3 is a sequel, its story is simple to comprehend and doesn't really require any past knowledge to understand it at a meaningful level. Some missions are quite long and way more difficult than others and some could be repetitive, but nothing too bland. Depending on who you ask, this might be the best AOW game, even better than AOW4. I am not really sure witch is more amazing, but it is certainly the most elegant, and it delivers the story in the best way, witch weigh heavy for any game. In both aspects, it is far superior to AOW4. Age of Wonders 3 is iconic to the 4X genre. The game is very good, if you have some patience, like strategy, empire building, high fantasy and a good story it's a must-play.
This game has wonderful mechanics and artwork. Always a joy to come back to.
