✦ Will you punish evil and do good, or will you plunder and pillage? It's up to you! Freedom is a constant theme here, but what is the heavy price of freedom ......?

✦ In a sandbox world with a day-night cycle, every NPC seems real. They have their own daily behaviors and habits, and may even change careers to become adventurers, mercenaries, or gladiators.
✦ The Freelands' economy flows like water, and it's not a dream to see business opportunities and make money.(Will be released gradually in the form of major updates.)

Viel Text.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good bones, but yeah, the visuals are janky. Stick with it and you'll have a blast – just don't expect to have any coin early on, haha.
This game feels like a cross between Baldur's Gate 3 and Mount and blade. I do highly recommend this game, but only to those who understand the pros and cons. Pros: The game is very addictive and fun. choices matter and there are multiple ways to solve quests. Cons: The game is very buggy, however its 90% visual. I haven't ran into any game breaking bugs and a restart every now and then will usual fix most bugs you are having. As someone who has developed with Unity game engine before, I can honestly say that, that is where most of visual bugs are coming from. I would bet that if they made the game in a different game engine, it would be sitting on very positive reviews.
I Have Decided to Play every game I own in Alphabetical order and Review them all (about 700 games).. will I give up? Probably - but lets See how Far I get Game #5 of (716): The Age of Reforging: The Freelands Time Played: 24 Status: Will Play again First Impressions The character customization looks kind of horrible, but I like building a character and adding skills to try and improve my game. I like sandbox RPGs, so I put all my points into Potential. Because of that, I have really low stats and hope I can survive I couldn't even kill a single rat, I scavenged some stuff to sell, went back to town, and tried to get some help I couldn't afford it. The isometric viewpoint and initial vibe are cool, but every now and then the translations feel a little dodgy. Sometimes my character randomly switches to Chinese text when barking lines, though it is all understandable enough to follow and feels a good story. Gameplay & Mechanics The Grind: I couldn't raise enough money to get help and had just 3 silver to my name while risking starving to death. I found the local blacksmith and asked to work for them to earn a wage, then trained on the practice dummies at night like a rocky training montage. I was lacking Perception, so I became a cook to raise it, then trained Endurance and Strength at night on the dummies. I kept this loop up until I reached 5 Perception to use my first skill. With 189 Potential, I can eventually get 189 total stats. Skill & Squad Depth: Pressing K showed 11 skill tree classes and 7 different weapon trees. Once I got lots of stats, I went on to do the first quest saving refugees. I killed a group of bandits, captured a bandit woman, and worked on recruiting her to our group. I recruited a huge armoured guy for 3 gold (all the money I made grinding skills), then recruited an Orc after helping her kill a load of her clan mates. Progression & Loop: My team got pretty big, and I felt strong from all the training. There is lots of progression in getting everyone kit, leveling up squad skills, and keeping everyone fed with high morale. It feels like a squad-based version of Mount & Blade: Bannerlord. It has crafting, cooking, alchemy, skill books, and a caravan you can manage and upgrade to act as a traveling base and expand your team. Quests: Surprising variety in the side content. I spent time in a random dream world solving riddles and killing dream monsters. I found a man turned into a werewolf by a witch, tracked down the witch, and convinced her to change him back by giving her a gemstone she wanted. I investigated a murdered husband, found an arm near the main suspect's house, went down his well past spiders, and fought an Undead Knight with legendary gear. I then checked the gravekeeper's basement to find it strewn with dead bodies and chopped-up bits, realizing he was one of my quests murderer before he trapped me inside and I had to fight my way threw a dungeon to put him to justice Annoyances & Downsides: There is no way to change your skill bar around on the open map—it gets full of food and junk, and you have to wait until you are in town or in combat to fix it, which is annoying. Having to loot each individual dead body without a "Loot All" button is another pain. I don't enjoy the survival mechanics much or micro-managing wounds when you get hurt, though once your guys get strong enough you don't really need to micro them anymore outside of food and morale. Standout Feature Building a mercenary squad from scratch. The loop of taking a completely weak character, grinding stats, recruiting prisoners and allies, and managing a whole caravan squad as you explore and level up is the best part of the game. Verdict Is the game perfect? No, but if you like grinding skills in a sandbox, doing quests and jobs, and living like a mercenary, you will really like this. I'm enjoying leveling, exploring, finding huge monsters and mysteries and getting my team strong. The game runs smoothly with no crashing and no major bugs. This is the kind of game you can sink 100 to 1,000s of hours into and still find small things to do. However, for £24.99 it is probably overpriced, as the gameplay loop could certainly get very samey after a while once you have your base team sorted. If you like this kind of game, grab it on a sale. I think it's great.
Junk. Good Lord, so much junk, playing it feels like swimming in Ganges river. Items which can only be picked up in a specific camera mode, load not loading sometimes, getting stuck in a wall after being pushed by enemies, unique adventurers disappearing forever into some limbo, even walking through doors is a freaking struggle and so on and so forth. I dare not to think how it looked like on 'release'. I wish devs would focus on stitching this zombie together before trying to do anything else. I wish that, because there is some genuine effort buried in there, but if they keep releasing games in such state they'll be forever stuck with mixed reviews and peak at 500 players.
a little janky, very easy to lose
