About

Build, Gather and Fight in a Desperate Last Stand Against an Onslaught of Never Ending Evil!
The darkness is an entity of evil. Some say it is the manifestation of human fear and nightmares, others say it is a wandering mass of damned souls haunting us. The origin of the darkness itself is unknown, but one thing for certain is that we can keep it at bay through the power of light and fire.
The complete, full release of Age of Darkness: Final Stand is available now and includes Co-operative Multiplayer, Campaign, and Survival modes.

Brace yourself against huge tidal waves of Nightmares. Leveraging an internally developed technology called ‘SwarmTech’ allows the game to render over 70,000 enemy units on the screen at one time. These enemy legions claw their way up through seething fissures in the earth to reinforce ‘The Veil’.

Light up a rich, complex, procedurally generated map to claim territory back from ‘The Veil’. A dynamic living death fog that conceals enemies and drains life from your troops. Holding the line against this terror is not for the faint of heart.

Borrowing from the the roguelite genre, Malices are random afflictions placed on the player during every Death Night, unraveling the best made plans. Conversely, if a Death Night is survived, you may decide between three randomly selected Blessings, enriching the experience and giving your army a much needed edge.

Lead the charge against the horrors of the night with powerful and unique Heroes. Using special abilities gained from leveling up, these Heroes can be key to turning the tide of a desperate battle. But beware, the Nightmares have Elite roaming champions of their own that drop precious resources when killed, posing an extreme and ever-present threat to your expansion.

Co-Op Multiplayer - Team up with a friend in co-op multiplayer to survive the onslaught, defend humanity from the forces beyond the Veil, and reclaim the light together
Epic Campaign - Award winning single-player campaign full of epic battles and dire threats
Survival Mode - Put your endurance and skills to the test in the endlessly replayable Survival Mode
Award-Winning SwarmTech™ Technology – Witness the internally developed ‘SwarmTech’ technology, allowing the game to render over 70,000 enemy AI units on the screen at one time.
Unique Heroes & Factions – Choose Heroes reigning from three distinct Factions - The Order, Rebellion & Volatists - each with their own playstyles, abilities, bonuses and army units that offer a unique gameplay experience.
Dynamic Day & Night Cycle – Fight to reclaim territory by day and survive against the relentless horrors that come with every night.
Living Death Fog – Encounter The Veil, a living death fog that conceals terrors and adds a new layer of danger to your survival, which must be kept at bay through the power of the Light.
Malices, Blessings & Hardships – Embrace roguelite mechanics that make every run unpredictable and unique.
Elite Nightmares – Hunt down wandering powerful enemies for Dark Essence, each requiring different tactics and strategies to defeat.
Horror and Embolden Status Effects - Embolden your army to aid them in battle, but ensure they are protected from the brutal effects of being Horrified.
Terrifying Nightmare Foes – Face off against horrifying monsters like Spitters, Crushers, and Wraiths, each wielding unique abilities.

Reviews
Upvoting this game because of all the childish downvotes. People expect every game nowadays to be a service that gets infinite support and content. This is a finished product that provides a cool campaign that is somewhere aiming in a WC3 direction and there is of course the free game mode, which is a lot of fun, especially when playing with friends. Yes it has its weaknesses and some bugs, but please show me one finished game which hasn't. If you like tower defense with a pinch of rts, this might be your jam.
As much as i'd like to give a positive Review, this game deserves a thumbs down for now. I've only played the campaign so far, but i don't know if i'm trying the multiplayer, given the problems this game has at the moment. My main complaints are: - Unit pathing is terrible. If you select a waypoint with the attack-command, they should prioritize enemies before buildings. Sometimes the units attack useless buildings and ignore enemy units or towers actively damaging them. - Economy is building up way to slow. Most of the time i'm waiting for cash, resources or a building to build/upgrade, just to have to wait another eternety to build something. Boosting your economy also takes way to much time. - Balance in mission design: While the first few missions of the campaign are beautifully designed, the later missions are horribly unbalanced. Timers tick and if you don't know what happens next, you may have to restart the mission (= sometimes 1,5h for nothing), because you didn't prioritize the right buildings. That's just plain frustrating and could be solved with one easy thing coming next: - Saving: The game autosaves and lets you save manually. BUT you can only have one of them each for each mission, because it'll always override. So you can't save multiple savegames while progressing through one mission and sometimes you'll have to start all over, because your last savegame was already when you couldn't turn around the mission anymore, so you're forced to restart the whole thing. Again: Frustrating as hell! Don't get me wrong, the devs put a lot of love and passion in this game, that's noticeable. It has a beautiful atmosphere (WC3 was clearly the inspiration here), the dialogues are voiced decently and the story keeps you going, but the points above make this game rather a chore than fun to play.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'll make this fast. I love this game, it's such a chill game to sit back and play- a good challenge that constantly forces you to learn how to adapt to new maps and issues. It also looks good, and you really feel the impact of the hordes. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because it seems the Devs gave up on it. It's a fantastic gem if you get it on Humble, or through other means but due to the devs seemingly not bothering to do anything with this gem, I can't say it's worth the price tag. I'd happily change my mind if things change, because again I love playing this game. But for now, don't bother.
I don't know why the game is getting so much hate recently, but i feel like i have to give my input now. DISCLAIMER: I play survival, haven't even done campaign yet. This is a great game for people who like age of empires and tower defense. Trying to simplify it, the gameplay loop is to attack, get resources, expand, defend. random maps and 3 different factions - each with 2 different heroes keep the game fresh for respectable timeframe. Only recently beat the Horrific difficulty, second to last difficulty, which was very tough. I've played the game for over a 100 hours and I'll continue to come back to the game because the core gameplay is fantastic. I hope they come back to the game, maybe make a sequel, but the game feels finished and those complaining about it being abandoned are giving entitled.
IN GOOD FAITH: I recommend this game. There ARE bugs in the game, but 9 times out of 10 you can fix it by just close out and restart. I have SO many hours in this game without issues and I rarely have bugs that break my game. 220 hours and i plan to keep going. YES THE DEVELOPERS DID ABANDON THIS GAME, but for what they have made, this is a rough gem. This game could EASILY be one of the next BIG game titles for the RTS genre. The review bombing is just to help bring the devs back. PROS: Good gameplay loop, Strategic building is key, resource management feels great, upgrades are worth investing into, difficulty scaling is great, genuinely addicting to the point where people want more updates! CONS: Certain heroes are better than others BY ALOT, there is a LOT of other units or possibly another FACTION that the campaign introduced that the survival mode did not incorporate (such as hornets, enforcers, etc), difficulty scaling feels like they spam certain enemy units at you (if you know, you know), feels like they pulled the plug alittle too quickly and what I mean by that is little to no variation between factions. HERE IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE, thank you for reading this far. Add in a new faction, The Alderin Empire. EASY ideas too, I mean, enforcers, hornets, the pikemen, The BIG TOWER that Vizargo and Aurelia take down! idk about heroes, but MAN this would be dope. Give the Volatists the ability to either summon or control the nightmares, THATS THEIR WHOLE IDEOLOGY! It was so freaking cool to see it in campaign but during the survival mode? i was SO disappointed. Theres also really no recourse to choosing a side at all, just super small bonuses that are almost immediately forgotten about. we dont need no superweapons or uber units, just some more adjusting. The order should have all units health and damage boosted to match their aesthetic, with armor or more armor since theyre warriors; the Rebellion should be cheaper units with an emphasis on rag tag units that you could recruit either more in bulk, or have a % chance to spawn additional units from any faction, since ya know, theyre rebels; and the volatists should be more focused on corrupting nightmares, being more cult like, and having some dark essence production/utilization. sorry for the rant. just so much potential
The developers are utter scumbags, no updates since multiplayer release or any communication to their community untill this week only to say that there will be no support going forward as they're developing some game of thrones games. Avoid these developers and any other games they half arse make. STOP KILLING GAMES

I really wanted to like this game, but there's just too many glaring problems with it. The AI pathfinding is an absolute joke. Units running into the backs of friendlies trying to get to the enemy, with no course correction. The campaign is laughably predictable as far as the story is concerned. Fanfic writing tier level at best. The one positive I can say is that the "hero" units have decent abilities that make some battles interesting. Overall 4/10, wait for sale if you really want to try it.
So much potential but the Devs decided to abandon the game. What a pity.
