Against Great Darkness Prologue is a brick-breaking, roguelite where you play as a pagan trying to escape Hell's maw. Trigger relics by keeping your disks bouncing, experience unique events where you can obtain incredible loot, and battle hellish bosses while always keeping an eye on your disks.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

Очень красочная игра. По сюжету вы пытаетесь вылететь из прямой кишки, параллельно расстреливая проходящее мимо что-то...
Sort of an upwards scrolling shoot 'em up meets Breakout clone. It seemed like an awkward blend to me. Not least because there doesn't seem to be a penalty for letting the ball drop. Or maybe I just feel this way because I suck at it. I don't know.
Against Great Darkness Prologue pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on //good amount of action and special effects cons: //a lot of difficult battles //some overpowered enemies //some enemies have unfair attacks //could use more health drops/powerups //losing battles are a grindfest (going back to checkpoints will respawn a lot of enemies) //some times too many enemies constantly spawn //sometimes too many traps/enemy attacks //upgrades cost a lot of resources //gathering resources are a grindfest //good game Personal Suggested Purchase Price: Free To Play

This game is beautiful and definitely worth a try. The combat is unique, the idea is that you deflect a ball (disk) and stop it from falling off the screen, however, whilst you are doing that, there are a variety of demons trying to kill you. You can purchase different abilities every time you level up and each non passive ability requires you to hit a disk once or multiple times to activate it. It's sort of like a combination of an old retro style alien shooter and a block breaker game with the same concept of hitting a ball and not letting it fall. And on top of that it's free. This is meant to be the prologue to a full game and after seeing this, I'm probably gonna give the full game a try on release.
"Against Great Darkness Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Against Great Darkness". Against Great Darkness is a failed and abandoned hybrid 2D retro pixel shoot'em up and ripoff of Atari's copyrighted brickbreaker game, Breakout, that the developer abandoned 10 months ago, yet is still trying to scam gamers into buying, despite having taken all the money and run. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Against Great Darkness, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Against Great Darkness Prologue" too. The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to pay a whopping $7USD to the developer for their abandoned game that they are never going to finish. Does that sound like a scam to you? Sure does. This is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.

Slaying demons in a Brick break game with roguelike elements kinda slaps! Looking forward to the full release soon. Also nice Heartbound reference.
Love the idea of "breakout, but make it roguelite"
