Adventure of Rikka - The Cursed Kingdom

If you want some casual top-down Zelda-like gameplay then this game is for you. The music is really nice and the pixel art style is very cute. Unfortunately the story in this game is extremely lacking; there is a serviceable premise and start to the plot, but the story elements of the game peter out after that. There are many side objectives, like numerous stand-alone puzzles to solve and collectibles to find. Sometimes I would get lost in the game and not know where the next dungeon was, but wandering around was not boring since you would come across many puzzles, NPCs, and so on. There are some interesting events in the game, like beating some bosses will alter certain aspects of the area that their dungeon is located in but the game, overall, is pretty derivative. The developer has been steadily releasing updates since the launch of the game, fixing bugs, improving animations, and adding Quality of Life features. Major props to the developer for that. Personally, I find the current price of $11.99 to be too steep for what this game has to offer (I took my time throughout the game and beat it in about 7 hours), so I would recommend getting it on sale if this price is not lowered.

I bought this game a few days ago. Everything seems pretty good with the game. I got hooked pretty quickly and spent too much time on it. My wife was curious about which game had stolen me away from her. She also tried it, and she got hooked right away. Now she plays every day, and we barely have any time together anymore. She started playing with a "friend," and eventually they met to talk about how much they liked the game. My wife told me that she wants to divorce to be with her "friend" instead. They both moved to Las Vegas, and now they play the game together every day. I sit here in my loneliness and still play every day. 9 out of 10. It would have been 10 out of 10 if my wife hadn't left me.

As a fan of the Zelda Games, this brings back memories and i am happy to recommend this game. the graphics are beautifully done, the storyline is done well. and the combat is also amazing. i do have one thing though, i'm not sure if i'm missing it or completely oblivious to it. but there isn't a map to see where you need to go or where you are at. If a map was added i think that would be amazing, otherwise this game is a 10/10 for me

It's a masterful blend of action, puzzle and exploration. Boss encounters are simple but satisfying as you figure out the quirks of each encounter. However, it's the puzzles that shine. Every nook and cranny of this kingdom is filled with things waiting to be discovered - it's meticulously designed, encourages thinking outside the box and the developer delivers an experience that's as polished as it is engaging. The nostalgic art style oozes charm and personality that transports you back to the golden age of gaming. Each new area shows the attention to detail and encourages you to venture off in search of hidden treasures, rewarding curiosity and exploration. Controls are good but at times a bit finicky when attempting to quickly string together a series of moves in the encounters. Engaging gameplay and nostalgic charm, Adventure of Rikka is an experience that's not to be missed.

If you like Zelda-esque inspired games with a lot of puzzles you will have a good time.
