About
This is a survival action game in which the player becomes Ropp a chef of a beast girl who accompanies a party of adventurers and supports them with food. Be self-sufficient in the dungeon and eat whatever you can to keep from falling down from hunger and moving forward. Eat up anything that stands in your way!
Let the party take charge of the battle!
When the party encounters a monster, it will automatically start fighting. Sometimes stray bullets will fly at you, so dodge them and collect ingredients.
Observe the monsters and support the party from the rear!
Monsters create a gap before they perform a big move, and if you hit them with an attack at this time, you can take them down for a long time. Ask your party to perform a special move to finish them off.
Everything he collects is foodstuff
Everything is an ingredient for Lop, from the plants she collects to the corpses of demons she dismembers. By cooking them while camping, they can be turned into sumptuous dishes. Cooking has various effects such as HP recovery and increasing attack power, so you need to judge the composition of the dungeon and serve appropriate dishes.
In a land dotted with numerous unexplored dungeons, there was a village that was severely starved. Many adventurers challenged the dungeons, but none of them brought back treasures yet because they could not procure food in the village that served as their base.
Then, a beast girl came to the village and said to the adventurers, “I can get food in the dungeon.
She said, I can get food in the dungeon and fill my stomach on the spot. This is my chance to get my hands on the treasure!
The adventure of Lop the cook begins now.

I think there's an extremely solid foundation here that can make for an amazing game down the line, and given the price they're charging it feels like it reflects that. However with its currently minimal content, not really any story and repetitive nature it feels closer to a really good flash game than a full indie release. Should the devs take what they've done here and flesh it out with a more linear story (or actual story in general), more polished control scheme (please let us manipulate the cursor with the right stick, it feels super awkward and imprecise having it bound to movement) and in general more content then I can honestly see something worth paying twice as much for. But as it stands right now since the content just kind of... exists... and is samey, I boot it up, think "hey this is neat", and then within 10 minutes i'm kinda bored and wanting to drop it for a few hours. The cast seem nice (if a bit tropey) but since you can just get any of them in any order for the first 12 or so levels the game has zero interaction between any of the cast because it doesn't know who you've got. Having a more linear story experience would fix this and allow you to write actual interaction between the party members. You can upgrade Lop to make collecting faster or cover a larger area, but the upgrades feel extremely underwhelming and i'm still feeling like i'm constantly busy in dungeons and having no time to actually try and fight or cook even when i'm in early content and fully upgraded. The final stage of each dungeon feels like it expects you to upgrade the party to give them a ton of health, but the upgrade currency is few and far between and grinding it is just really boring and repetitive. I'd like to see the devs develop on this into a more fully fleshed out game, even if it's a sequel at a probably higher price tag. But as it stands this just kinda... exists and i'd only recommend checking it out if you're extremely curious. Look at the videos, you're getting what you see on the tin and nothing more right now.

What can I say? It's simply a good game all around with a lot of planning and love put into it. The art is very charming, each character is very loveable from the moment you meet them, the dungeon diving is unique and addicting, the camp-cooking is well thought-out and balanced, and the food looks GOOD. The characters give a relaxed vibe and that is reflected in the game's difficulty; it's not particularly demanding of the player and I don't think it needs to be. The English translation is... pretty good. Could be better, could be a LOT worse. It's a little stiff in some parts, but it's very clearly NOT machine TL and it does not feel AI assisted either. I would prefer this translation over something over-localized, so it's a good fit for me. On the dungeon diving, each character has two modes you choose from, support and combat. Both types will continuously attack, but your choice affects their abilities that they unlock after meeting their food requirements (handled at camp). The support type will generally either affect your ability to procure ingredients or protect the party. The combat type will allow that character to do do more AoE damage, either in splash damage or piercing damage. And to unlock these abilities, you need to cook at camp, which is a resting point in the dungeon. Each dish belongs to either Meat, Vegetables, or Desert group (or none), and each character has a favorite. If you cook a character's favorite type of dish 3 and 5 times in a single dungeon run, you unlock the corresponding ability. Some dishes count as two types of dish (meat and vegies, for example) and other dishes don't count as anything (usually strong base effects). While you're busy trying to cook enough dishes to gain these abilities, you also need to make sure the dishes provide you with enough Tension, which is simply another resource. If your dishes generate 50 or 100 Tension, you unlock a perk for the rest of the dungeon run. I wouldn't say they are required to get every time, but they certainly make things easier. The game describes the camp as a sort of miniature puzzle game, and trying to juggle your ingredients, the dish types to unlock abilities, and tension certainly makes it feel like one. Again, it's not hard, but sometimes you'll have to sacrifice one personal objective for another if you're short on ingredients. At least until the next camp, since dungeons will have more than one camp. Overall, easily worth the asking price.
The characters are cute and the gameplay is simple, but most important of all, if you remember Dragon's Crown back in the PS Vita and the party member taking a rest around a campfire, using the material they found on their quest to make delicious food that equates to high definition food porn, proceed to devouring it, that's the vibe I'm getting, and I can't wait to do camping at each rest stop. It's great.
