About

Crafted with passion by the dream team that redefined side-scrolling beat 'em ups, Absolum mixes top-of-the-class combat action with modern roguelite elements, bringing all the vibes of the fantasy arcade hits of the past into an immersive adventure set in the original world of Talamh.

Talamh has been shattered by a magical cataclysm caused by ambitious wizards, leaving magic mistrusted by the common folk. Sun King Azra took advantage of this panic, enslaving wizards through his Crimson Order and placing loyal princes to rule over the conquered realms.
As Azra’s forces claim more and more lands, the high enchantress Uchawi and a small group of rebels rise from the shadows, wielding forbidden magic to challenge his oppressive regime and defy his absolute magic power.

Meet the outcast heroes of Talamh, each with their unique fighting style.
From the shadows of Yeldrim, Galandra emerges as an unstoppable force of nature. Her colossal sword strikes with deadly precision, combined with chilling, destructive necromantic powers. Her calm demeanor is a thin veil, barely concealing the furious anger brewing inside her.
Karl is the last free dwarf of Talamh. Armed with an ancestral blunderbuss and his bare fists, he’s a master of close-range brawls and explosive tactics. What he lacks in reach at mid-range, he makes up for with raw strength and quick thinking, making him a stalwart ally in the revolt against Azra's oppression.
During their ordeals, two mysterious heroes will join them on a quest to overthrow the Sun King: Brome, a wizard prodigy on a mission to preserve the future generations of his people, and the enigmatic Cider, a nimble skirmisher in search of answers among the scattered fragments of their own soul.

Absolum combines Dotemu and Guard Crush’s mastery in beat ‘em up gameplay with Supamonks' best-in-class art and animation. With its fast-paced action and endless replayability, Absolum will challenge you with multiple paths to explore and unpredictable encounters for a new experience each time you play.

Take down Azra’s elite guard with a mix of rapid combo chains and spellcasting powers, unleashing moves that feel as raw as they are strategic. Use magical counters and rare items to turn the tide in your favor and experience a combat system that demands skill and timing, pushing you to craft new strategies at every run to wreak havoc among the enemy ranks.

Lead the uprising against Azra's regime as a lone hero, or team up with a friend on your couch or online. Combine your elemental powers and synchronize your attacks into incredible chained combos!
The world of Talamh is an intricate tapestry brimming with secrets, stories, and betrayals. From the majestic mines of Grandery to the lush forests of Jaroba, every step of your odyssey will be accompanied by a magnificent soundtrack by composer Gareth Coker (Ori, Halo Infinite, Prince of Persia), with collaborations from Yuka Kitamura (Dark Souls, Elden Ring), Mick Gordon (Doom Eternal, Atomic Heart), and more!

Absolutely amazing
I only started getting into the Beat-'Em-Up genre recently but it's quickly become one of my favorites and I consider this the closest the genre has gotten to roguelike perfection. It's REALLY hard, even on base difficulties but that just makes it's all the more satisfying when you master the block system and start bulldozing all the enemies who previously beat you down. There's a nice rotation of player options between light/heavy attacks, specials, grabs, and spells that make player expression diverse even within the same build. Easily one of my favorite indie releases of the last few years and my personal favorite beat-'em-up I've played. There are so many different upgrades that no two runs will be the same, which I think is ideal for a roguelike. But there's also the option in the postgame to spend leftover upgrade currency on specific items, creating an easy way to theorycraft and try out specific builds without trivializing your in-run decisions. I think this system gives the best of both worlds and offers a more fun variation to the usual "banish" systems roguelikes use. The hand-drawn art is gorgeous and the animations have a ton of punch that make landing combos feel incredible. I especially loved Karl the dwarf with his grappling, arial mobility, and a super satisfying headbutt. Countering enemies with a heavy attack felt so badass every time, but doubly so when you're doing it with your forehead. It's fully voice-acted and everyone involved does an exceptional job. with the main villain in particular having one of the coolest voices I've ever heard, period. The story is told indirectly over multiple runs but once you start winning your runs it all comes together pretty quickly and creates a unique dark-fantasy world. My only complaints would be with the difficulty occasionally feeling artificial and some of the best content being hidden behind extremely opaque side-objectives, The difficulty feels perfectly-tuned by default to make you earn every victory without necessarily requiring perfect play, but the moment you start adding modifiers in the post-game that balance crumbles a bit. Sometimes the balance tilts in your favor, which creates fun power-trips that feel earned with the amount of challenge just to unlock them. But when it tilts the other way you just get stunlocked by a mob of enemies or two-shot by an endgame-level mob on the third screen of the game which kills all fun (especially when you've invested 3 runs' worth of gold into starting items). However it seems like they've toned this down a bit since I last played so it might not be as big of a problem. As for the overly hidden content: a simple addition of text bubbles at the campfire to let you know whenever there's new dialogue and a couple hints of flavor text so players can more naturally find bosses like the Ghost Dragon on the coast is all that's needed. But with that being said the amount of secrets here is absolutely a selling-point on its own and you'll be finding new secret routes, encounters, and optimizations pretty much as long as you play. It's well-worth beating with all characters and I had a blast chasing all the achievements and doing a couple dozen challenge runs so I'm sure I'll be back in the future, If you like the beat-'em-up genre or singleplayer fighting-game content I would consider this a must-play. Major kudos to Guard Crush games and Supamonks for creating something that is simultaneously so fresh yet so familiar.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is reminiscent of Golden Axe to me, which I played when I was in my early teens. Besides the nostalgic feelings this is a great game and each run is unique. I love how the world gets bigger on almost each run. I also have a favorite character Galandra, but I remember Karl was the easiest to play and I got farthest with Cider. I haven't played much with Brome, but he seems he could be very powerful and fun. Also I wish there was a playable goblin character... Maybe a DLC or a sequel wich such a character is in order :P I used to play it often and got quite far even if I was a bit rusty when playing games like these and I took a long pause to finish some other games and I sort of suck now and I have to relearn a lot of stuff, but I've been using moves that I didn't rely on before like dodges more. I have to work more on using the punish mechanics, but I'm getting there.
Runs perfectly well in single player or coop even on old devices.
This game rocks
¡Juegazo absoluto! :)
