I forgot how much I missed point & click games until I played "A lost man"! I love the hand drawn style, and overall aesthetics. I also liked the story, which ended up different from what I expected :D Highly recommend, especially at that price, can't wait for chapter 2
Very moody point and click ! It's almost an ASMR experience, with the various paper related sound effects coupled to the tamed sounds of the distant war. I really enjoyed this game. Correct difficulty, enjoyable characters and great final act. Hope it reaches success so we can get a second game.
A weird little adventure. It is not too coherent. You are a deserter from the French army during World War I and try to get home to your love. So far so good. The base premise is great and somewhat new. The only similar game that came to mind is Valiant Hearts. The art style is great, and the gritty mood is just perfect. Then you start to play. The game has no highlighter option, so you are forced to pixel hunt. Ah, sweet memories! Not really, it is a painful one to try everything everywhere, so you don't miss picking up something important. Clues are scarce and not very persistent. Why do you have to put the rib into the hay and not onto the tree or anywhere else to lure the dog? Beats me! Or why can't you shoot the owl first, then later you can? I don't know. There are no real motives in the game. Why do you make the potion? Why do you dig out the corpse? Why? Why? Why? It feels like you do things because there is nothing else to do, so you get bored and summon a monk's ghost. Only at the end does the whole story solve itself with a deus ex machina moment, and it ends with a cliffhanger. Yes, this one is just the first part of the story, and nothing is implying when the next chapter is coming or whether it will be a separate game, free content, or paid DLC... Time will tell, so thumbs up for now for this 2-hour-long adventure, and we'll see what's coming!
I love this game so far, love the art, the sound effects and the story. It has so much personality and it is very simple to control. That doesn't mean it's easy, I got stuck 2 times already but then I found the solutions and when that happens, it feels very satisfying!
A Lost Man: Chapter I to zachęcająca do poznawania więcej i więcej, klasyczna przygodówka, w której oprócz mroku wojny, znalazła się również starożytna tajemnica. To pobudzający szare komórki, napędzający wyobraźnię i podkręcający ciekawość krok ku większej przygodzie, którą twórcy planują nam niebawem przedstawiać. Ciekawa, klasyczna i powiedziałabym pomysłowa, i intrygująca to opowieść, będąca wstępem do dłuższej historii naszego dezertera. Serdecznie ją polecam! Zalety: Ciekawa fabuła; Miła dla oka grafika; Klasyka rozgrywki; Ciekawe zagadkami przedmiotowe; Równie fajne zagadki logiczne; Rozgrywka stawiająca na kombinowanie przedmiotami; Dobra ścieżka dźwiękowa i muzyczna; Możliwość ręcznego zapisywania gry Wady: Zbyt mało slotów na zapisy rozgrywki; Czasami zbytnia dosadność w tekście; Brak polskiej wersji językowej; Mimo wszystko zbyt krótka
A Lost Man is a short point-and-click adventure game set during World War I. The atmosphere is beautifully crafted through grayscale hand-drawn artwork, and as a fan of Franco-Belgian comics, I really appreciated the art style. The game is quite strange, in a good way. We really do play a “lost man,” with no clear idea of where the adventure is going or what its purpose is. The game isn't perfect, of course. It's the first game from a small indie team, and there are some pixel-hunting moments (there's no key to highlight interactive objects), while some of the puzzles can feel a little far-fetched. But overall, it was a very pleasant experience for a point-and-click adventure fan. I'm looking forward to the next chapter!
