I've yet to complete the 'daily tidy' goals, so I expect to continue playing for that sisyphean achievement completion, however they do not offer substantive enough content for me to consider completing more of them as significant enough to change my opinion, so I'm sharing it now. The 'just tidying up' pattern-seeking game is a rough territory to wade into as the omission of some modes determined to be oversight, as well as inclusion of others determined to be overconfidence, can turn impressions sour quick. However, Max Inferno have overall managed to avoid this problem (in the base game, at least) to the point that grace is fairly easy to give on the annoying puzzles. But... everything else kind of ruins it for me. The art style is very cute, but wasn't enough to save my gaming experience. The puzzles ranged from 'arrange these by clear characteristics' to 'I don't know why they thought we would get this,' most leaning towards the former rather than the latter. The simpler puzzles, however, joined with random nuisances (sometimes literal nuisances programmed into the game for some unintelligible reason) to cause enough interruption that I couldn't fully embrace the 'brain off' type of play, either--frequently left waiting just long enough for an animation to end, or for the game's cutesy 'cat paw interrupts your play' (first time was clever, second was annoying, third and beyond? unbearable) to tear me away from the game and get angrier at whatever annoyance came up. I would suggest that Max Inferno learned from this based on the comparative few interruptions in Cupboards & Drawers DLC, but as more annoyances came back in Seeing Stars this interruptive impetus seems to have only temporarily vacated their brains. At the beginning of my playtime I was plagued my control issues, and looked forward to trying it out on my steam deck--maybe the controls would be more comfortable for somebody else, but I continued to find them annoying. Then I tried using the touchscreen. Aha! I strongly suspect development began as a phone game and it was shipped on PC, though I don't think my mind can be changed because of how infuriating the controls were, excessive UI navigation that was required and all. I recommended Cupboards & Drawers because, if you have already committed yourself to the game (and thus accepted the annoyances), Cupboards & Drawers is more of its best qualities. However, I still can't put aside the poor qualities long enough to consider this game a good recommendation.
Прекрасні головоломки, хоч і більше для релаксу, проте як затягує! Однозначна рекомендація, якщо хочете просто почілити, але й трохи подумати
a note for people who want to complete all achievements in one playthrough: there are 2 achievements for playing through the campaign without using hint or skipping level. So you should go for them first before doing "use 10 hints" or "use 10 skips".
이거 쓰려고 도전과제 100퍼 달성하고 발언권 얻어왔습니다. 일일 정돈 100회는 어떤 악마가 생각한 겁니까?
only played the game for casual relaxation. ended up stressed and dramatically overthinking a few levels at some point. 10/10
Drag and drop your mess around in clever logical puzzles while keeping your feline overlords at bay.
Sometimes you just need to take some time off and just kick back with a nice cup of tea and a slightly obtrusive puzzle to wind down from all the noise. This is a really zen game where the journey is as much a goalpost as the conclusion. Over a series of levels you are tasked to put things in order by cleaning up messes, line things up according to logic, or just solve the spatial puzzle hidden in the pieces on the screen. This is a very simple yet unnervingly rewarding game where each little piece has its correct spot, and I did not think I could feel so rewarded sorting a toolbox… https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3772893109 The overall presentation of the game is excellent with a pastelly hand drawn quality that really fits the overall theme of the game. The variation in the puzzles adds an extra layer and forces you to actually consider all the moving parts, adding challenge to what would otherwise have been an ordinary sorting situation. In case you have a small window of time to slay, there is also the “daily tidy”, a randomized task that can be fulfilled for small badges of participation, and there are plenty of thematic puzzles as well such as spooky halloween or the blessed yuletide! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3772892389 The game is short, but well worth the asking price with plenty of puzzles to go through, as well as daily tasks that feels like a daily crossword puzzle of sorts, albeit a bit more simplified. I only played through the base game and it really plays like one can expect from the trailer, so if sorting things and finding joy in simple order is your thing, then this is probably right up your alley. There are DLCs, but I have not tried them out, the base game alone gave me plenty of OCD for my buck! Conclusion: A deceptively simple premise where sorting out messes is the main gameplay. If you get instant gratification from cleaning up drawers, this might be a hidden gem! Recommended for its simple yet addictive gameplay, and rewarding conclusions.
