4PM is a short, narrative driven game, made by one person as an attempt to tell a real, thriller story in the form of an interactive experience. It has high production values and a cinematic style. It is, with your support, a first in a series of smaller, narrative driven experiences, that spare no expense on audio-visual style.

A very short story, around 25 minutes, about an alcoholic woman confronting her choices. As per the description, it's more of a narrative presentation that a traditional game with mechanics. The game simply isn't long enough to develop an even remotely engaging story or interesting character(s). With the time it did have, it developed a surface level and uninteresting narrative. The only mechanic present was annoying - sneaking out of the office. Your crackhead looking boss will catch and teleport to you from twenty feet away or if he sees you out of the corner of his eye. You're then forced to watch the cutscene of him reprimanding you every time. The game is also killed by the movement and camera. You move very slowly with the camera head bobbing up and down. The camera is also constantly blurred - maybe to present being intoxicated or something, but either way it doesn't look good. The story culminates with you choosing whether to go to the bar or go to the roof. On the roof, you have to talk down a guy you've been having an affair with. It's a cliché "she took the kids" moment - again, the story lacks depth. That's the end of the game... The only entertaining moment for me was the dude on the couch in the bar. He says "hey girl can you catch, cause you got a couple of balls coming your way".

its not a real game, more of a walking simulator trying to tell a story that fails to compel
simply horrible. cringe.
Genre: Adventure - WS - Walking Sim Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Amateur all around. Few good ideas. Mostly centered about being a hated drunk in the corporate world. Undervelopped. I paid for this game but it was in a bundle a long time ago, or maybe I traded for it. But obviously whatever I might have paid for this has been long forgotten at the time of writing this. Is this a good game? No The game controls poorly, looks grainy and blurry, and you often feel like an oversized toddler just bumbling through. The game hints at medication and alcohol use by the protagonist. But given the limited display of skills, and the mention of a school of filming in the opening credits, I would not be surprised if the narrative fit around the technical skill of the dev, rather than the other way around. Is this a good piece of art? ... Probably not... The voice acting is alright, but feels a bit scripted and forced at times. The camera angles, and filters on sound effects and voices do provide the right emotional reaction intended by the dev, but the surface deep dialogue and disjointed plot hardly hides the lack of substance here Is it a good experience regardless of what it is... Hmm maybe... by the right person at the right time. However for most people in most circumstances : No The game is incredibly short, very corridor like, you get no real attachment built to any character, and just as you start learning about the character's backround the game ends. Its almost like the game kills off the plot rather than have to deal with the elements it brings forwards and see if it can remain credible. As a teacher in a film school I might have graded this with an okay grade, I am sure whichever student made this displayed some level of competency for whomever he made this. For the steam audience however, this is a pass and would make a better offer as a free product.
