In Yupitergrad 2, the players have extended mobility, a wider selection of tools, and a much richer game world with an open-ended structure. This is a VR adventure worth waiting for. The legend is back, bigger and better.

I recommend this if you liked the 1st one and don't mind Metroidvania games bc you're going to be backtracking a lot. My main criticism is that I sometimes didn't know where to go (no waypoints), and it often feels like there are many long corridors in your way on the way to where you're going, and they seem like padding to make the game longer than the 1st game. You do get combat in this game, which the 1st didn't have. It isn't very easy either. You'll die plenty. I'm currently at a part where you get a purple plunger upgrade, and it's very frustrating trying to get through this part (at the start of video below). If you make it this far, you'll know what I mean. Comparison: Yupitergrad 1: short, charming, no combat, good music, more of a Russian theme, no map Yupitergrad 2: longer, better graphics, more upgrades, combat, not as charming, bland music, less Russian theme (maybe, bc of Ukraine), 3D interactive map My gameplay video: https://youtu.be/3WpU-v1-nF0
Constant shutters in VDXR (OpenXR) and very jelly head rotation movements in SteamVR make the game unplayable (tried lower resolutions and lower framerates, on/off spacewrap – nothing changed). Never has simmilar issue with other games. Also, it localized to every Earth language except Russian and it's not sold in Russia. It insults me personally and considering the Soviet style it just feels absurd. Pity I bought the game a long time ago and have no possibility to refund. I have literally no reasons to reccomend the game I can't even play. I really doubt devs give a ♥♥♥♥ on this and will fix shutters
A Love-Hate Relationship with This Sequel
I’ve never craved playing a game so much while being equally frustrated by it. The core gameplay from the first game is still great, but it’s hampered by new design choices that make the experience more tedious than it should be. For starters, the objectives are misleading, practically guaranteeing you’ll get lost at least two or three times. The game constantly has you traverse the entire map just to press a button—showing little respect for your time. The risk-reward balance feels off. Playing it safe is dull, but playing aggressively is punishing due to the sparse checkpoints. And don’t even get me started on the rooms with the purple stuff — what’s the point of the latest Pick Your Challenge update if a third of the map has no floor, forcing you into constant, frustrating falls? I never had any real trouble with enemies despite having 3/5 health upgrades and the end. Combat is a nice addition, but the clunky weapon-switching system drags it down. Lastly, the Steam version doesn't offer any substantial visual enhancements over the standalone Quest 3 version, which runs at 90 FPS with slightly worse visuals. At that point, there’s little reason to pick it up on PC unless you really want to play it on Steam. It’s a game I want to love, but right now, it’s testing my patience more than my skills.
The rocket mod (nozzles) you get partway through the game is activated via grip which is really frustrating for Index controllers. Couldn't remap the controllers so I just rage quit.
i wonder how much porn there is of the ai girl
A MUST HAVE This game (and its predecessor) is all you need for a fun and interactive experience. In the beginning your gonna have some trouble getting around. But once you speed through your first obstacle tunnel? OH MAN is that fun! They really nailed down the swinging and grapple physics. If you get vertigo easily i highly suggest you get this game! Either you pass out/ vomit onto your floor, OR get used to playing games in vr while you have the best time of your life. The story side of things is great too! Spoilers: The mystery is pretty easy to figure out but that doesn't mean the commentary is boring. Lot's of jokes and banter to make sure you dont feel alone while swinging from place to place. Speaking of commentary, the A.I. you are accompanied with is a great addition and reminds me of the portal series. Overall 10/10 and would love to see more from these creators. (it would be an 11/10 if they made the "purple tunnels' a bit less stressful)
Very good.
This is a unique plunger swinging, platforming, freestyling adventure, you got to play. Yupitergrad 2 is an amazing game of swinging through a space station of death traps. Your aerial skills will be put to the test. You will learn new tricks, move like Spider-Man, and dodge through traps like Jackie Chan. If you are looking for that web swinging Hollywood movie feeling, this is it in space. You can hear the air whistle past your ears as you gain speed swinging down the halls, then the hums of the lasers as you dive through a field of them, all while you shoot down a swarm of killer droids. If this sounds exciting to you, you need to pick this up. Watch my full review here, https://youtu.be/k1Dfnal0klg
Better than the first one
I recommend this game but I HATE THE COMBAT! Swinging around a metroidvania style station is GREAT, dodging obstacles, switching between movements modes, all amazing. Now, what if you need to do all that at once AND shoot at tiny flying robots? It's just too much. Even with everything set to easy, the combat just stops the fun all at once for me. It just feels like a hectic mess and everything I do in combat feels like luck rather than skill. Enduring the combat is worth it, tho, the rest of the game shines. (Oh wait, the AI narrators are way too chatty and annoying, but you can turn their volume to zero and switch off subtitles to effectively erase them from the game, thank god).
