Скучно и нестрашно. Первый же паззл бессмысленно нелогичный. Если все и дальше в таком же духе, продолжать не вижу смысла.
Worse Than Death is an atmospheric indie horror experience that proves suspense does not require photorealistic visuals or elaborate combat systems to leave a lasting impression. Developed and published by BancyCo, the game follows Holly, a young woman who returns to her hometown to reconnect with old friends, only to become entangled in a terrifying series of events tied to memories she would rather forget. What begins as a personal visit gradually transforms into a tense descent into fear, where every familiar street and building carries an unsettling sense of history. The game's central theme revolves around confronting the past, and it uses that idea effectively to establish emotional stakes alongside its horror elements. One of the title's most compelling aspects is its narrative focus. Rather than treating its cast as disposable victims, Worse Than Death invests time in developing relationships and exploring the emotional scars that linger long after adolescence. Holly's journey feels grounded, and the dialogue between characters helps build a believable sense of shared history. The story balances mystery with psychological tension, slowly revealing secrets that connect the present nightmare to events from years ago. The pacing ensures that new revelations arrive consistently, encouraging players to keep moving forward to uncover the truth behind the town's darkness. Gameplay centers on exploration, stealth, and environmental interaction. Holly has no means of defending herself, which reinforces the feeling of vulnerability throughout the adventure. Players are required to evade hostile entities, search for clues, and solve puzzles that help unlock new areas. The lack of combat places greater emphasis on caution and observation, making every encounter feel meaningful. While the mechanics are relatively simple compared to larger survival horror titles, they remain effective within the game's scope. Its concise length also benefits the overall experience, allowing the story to remain focused without unnecessary distractions or filler content. The pixel-art presentation deserves recognition for how much atmosphere it creates with limited resources. Detailed environments, moody lighting, and carefully crafted animations contribute significantly to the sense of unease. The game frequently uses darkness and silence to heighten tension, creating moments where players are left anticipating danger around every corner. Complementing the visuals is an excellent soundscape filled with ambient effects and unsettling music that amplifies the emotional weight of key scenes. Despite its retro appearance, Worse Than Death successfully delivers several memorable moments that rival more visually ambitious horror games. That said, the experience is not entirely without flaws. Some stealth sections can occasionally feel repetitive, and enemy behavior is not always as refined as it could be. Players seeking deeper gameplay systems may find the mechanics somewhat basic, especially when compared to modern survival horror releases. Nevertheless, these shortcomings do little to diminish the game's greatest achievement: crafting a genuinely engaging and emotionally resonant horror story that remains compelling from beginning to end. Worse Than Death succeeds by combining psychological horror with themes of friendship, trauma, and personal growth. It is a game that understands that fear can emerge not only from monsters lurking in the dark but also from the memories people carry with them. For fans of story-driven horror adventures, it offers a memorable experience filled with tension, strong characterization, and an atmosphere that lingers long after the credits roll. Rating: 7/10

fun adventure game
A really good and eerie horror game. The art work is excellent and the atmosphere is terrifying. The story has a few plot holes, but nothing too major.
The puzzles are fun.
Nice little horror. Tells an interesting enough tale with some simple puzzles, a few scares, and some straightforward avoid the monster gameplay. It won't change the world but worth picking up on sale.
Absolutely recommend this. I had a great time playing it. I love pixel art, the story is good and surprising, the puzzles are fun to do and the spooks are good. It has a few jump scares, but nothing that will terrify you. There are some bloody pictures, but nothing that disturbed me. If you need a nice Halloween game with a nice ending, go play this. And do watch all the credits ;)
Good, solid horror game with a nice pixel art style and interesting story that had me hooked till the end. Good atmosphere and the puzzles were difficult but not ridiculous, generally. Only criticism would be that the title screen music is a bit strangely out of place, and the ending felt a bit rushed. But those are minor things really, overall enjoyed it.
Very cool!
It's a puzzle game, but the puzzles are too obtuse. It tells you all the clues, but at the same time the "logic" is too arcane. Having played some horror adveture puzzle game this one has some nice atmosphere but puzzles zre more frustrating than interesting
