World of Turtle is a passion project that originated from my early coding days. It began as a simple game with ASCII graphics programmed in Basic. Over time, it evolved with improved sound and graphics, and a few years ago, it was even ported to Flash, allowing for expanded features and a total of 100 levels. Now, I'm thrilled to announce that the game is undergoing a complete remake using TypeScript and WebGL, and it's making its debut on Steam.

- Encounter breakable blocks, ice blocks, transporting turtles, rolling carpets, crocodiles, penguins, and gorillas as you navigate the captivating world.
- Your progress is automatically saved, so you can pick up where you left off whenever you want.
- Gain 5 passes to skip levels, but don't worry—you can earn them back by replaying and conquering the levels you skipped.
- Immerse yourself in the game's delightful soundtrack with one dedicated song per stage. Unlock the Jukebox to replay the songs at your leisure.
- Enjoy seamless gameplay with gamepad support, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience.
- Compatible with both AZERTY and QWERTY/Z keyboards, accommodating players worldwide.

"World of Turtle" is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is yet another of several hundred amateur made minimalist pathing puzzle games that's somehow here on Steam instead of locked onto the app store where it belongs. This is a run of the mill pathing puzzle, there's a grid map for each level and you need to collect every bit of fruit and then hit the exit. Some of the tiles only permit one crossing, so you need to deduct the correct path to collect every bit of fruit then hit the exit. That's all there is to it, there's thousands of free games like this on Steam, app stores, and even on the web as Flash/HTML games, and even this mobile app is free to play... on Android. On PC, however, they're trying to scam gamers into paying money for something that's free elsewhere. More on that later. From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's all just amateurish "My First Wacom Tablet" style drawings used instead professional looking game assets, dropped onto fairly low poly backdrops (although a lot of games of this genre don't even bother with 3D graphics at all)+. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can create graphical assets properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low, enough on its own to deter gamers. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the mobile app unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers, but gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts might be in luck because at least there's an AZERTY mode. I guess that's worth paying lots of money for, right? NOPE. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone. These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this mobile app is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality mobile app is to be expected.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this mobile app as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the mobile app (to date). Until this status changes, this mobile app will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this mobile app.
So, should you buy this mobile app? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $8 USD, on app stores, it's free. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a premium for a free mobile app just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this can be played free elsewhere, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend. EIGHT BUCKS FOR A FREE MOBILE APP. Just who do they think we are?

Really fun puzzle game, If you are a fan of puzzle games you will most likely love this. Nice music too!
This game is exactly what it looks like. If you can get past that, the puzzles are pretty decent. Early puzzles are too easy, but puzzles in the middle of the game have some good challenge to them. There are a number of red herrings in the level design, so keep that in mind - some levels are far easier than they first appear. I'd be hesitant to get this game for $10 (since that's the same cost as Sokobond), but if you want to grab a silly indie puzzle game - and you know what you're in for - there's fun to be had here.
Great indie game, fun puzzles that gets harder (wasn't able to finish all of them yet haha) !
World of Turtle takes the familiar foundations of Sokoban-style puzzle games and turns them into a cheerful adventure centered on Babo Turtle. Rather than relying exclusively on traditional box-pushing challenges, the game builds its puzzles around collecting fruit, manipulating objects, navigating environmental hazards, and ultimately reaching a helicopter landing zone. The rules are easy to understand, but individual stages become increasingly demanding as more mechanics are combined. Developed by Jack Le Hamster and Vincent Le Quang and published by Dobuki Studio, it is a modest production with a clear focus on puzzle design rather than visual spectacle. The adventure contains 100 levels spread across 10 stages, giving it considerably more content than its simple premise might initially suggest. Early puzzles provide enough room to understand movement and positioning before later areas begin combining multiple obstacles. Planning ahead becomes important because an incorrect movement can leave objects in inconvenient positions or close off an otherwise useful route. This creates the satisfying cycle expected from a good spatial puzzle game: examine the board, experiment with a solution, recognize a mistake, and approach the problem differently. Variety comes from the assortment of environmental objects and creatures introduced throughout the campaign. Breakable blocks and collapsing terrain can change how a route develops, while ice blocks, rolling carpets, and transport-related mechanics add new considerations to movement. Animals also contribute to the puzzle design. Crocodiles represent hazards, gorillas need to be avoided, and penguins can be kicked as part of solving certain situations. These elements give later puzzles more personality and prevent the entire experience from becoming a repetitive sequence of ordinary Sokoban boards. One particularly useful feature is the game's system for skipping difficult levels. Five passes are available for bypassing puzzles that have become frustrating or temporarily impossible to solve. This means a single challenging stage does not have to stop progress through the rest of the game. Better still, returning to a skipped puzzle and successfully completing it restores the pass. It is an effective solution for balancing accessibility with challenge because players can continue exploring while still being encouraged to return and finish anything they previously left behind. Visually, World of Turtle favors colorful 2.5D environments and a playful cartoon atmosphere. It is not a graphically sophisticated game, but that simplicity works well with the puzzle-oriented gameplay. Objects and characters generally have enough visual distinction to communicate their purpose without overwhelming the screen. The unusual premise also gives the presentation some charm. Guiding a turtle through hazardous environments filled with fruit, penguins, crocodiles, and gorillas before escaping by helicopter creates a deliberately silly personality that separates it from more abstract puzzle games. The soundtrack contributes additional variety, with individual music associated with the different stages. An unlockable Jukebox also provides a way to revisit the music outside normal progression. These are relatively small touches, but they help make moving between stages feel more meaningful. Automatic saving is another welcome convenience, particularly because the level-based structure naturally suits shorter play sessions. Keyboard and gamepad controls are supported, making it easy to choose whichever input method feels more comfortable. World of Turtle remains a specialized experience despite its additional mechanics. Players who dislike grid-based puzzles, careful positioning, or repeated experimentation may find the campaign too methodical. The straightforward presentation and relatively small-scale production also mean that anyone expecting elaborate storytelling, cinematic sequences, or technically impressive graphics should adjust those expectations. The enjoyment comes primarily from solving handcrafted puzzles and gradually learning how the different mechanics can be manipulated. Steam Deck compatibility is currently best regarded as unverified rather than officially confirmed as fully compatible. The game's lightweight technical requirements and gamepad support are encouraging characteristics for portable play, but without an official Steam Deck Verified or Playable designation, users should not assume that every aspect of the experience has been validated for Valve's handheld. Minor configuration or compatibility considerations may therefore be possible. Overall, World of Turtle is a charming puzzle game that successfully expands a straightforward Sokoban foundation with enough hazards, creatures, environmental mechanics, and progression features to maintain interest across a substantial collection of levels. The 100-stage journey provides good value for players who enjoy deliberate problem solving, while the recoverable skip-pass system prevents unusually difficult puzzles from becoming permanent roadblocks. It is mechanically modest and visually uncomplicated, but its quirky personality and steady introduction of new ideas make it more engaging than its basic premise might suggest. Rating: 6/10
